Mat r,

I think that's super unlikely. The hall has to see the nik rodgers 2017 chic snub as a massive mistake. Otherwise they would've just listed rob halford and Wayne Kramer for each ME induction

No, Richie,
you still believe him. You told him, "I believe you, you're right," and then you kept asking him for his thoughts. Then you replied to me saying, "I've ignored him and no longer believe him," which is really funny. Of course, whether or not you believe guest/Poseidon/lc is your freedom, and I have no right to interfere, but I just find your behaviors quite hilarious.

Agree to disagree,

but I still want to clarify some facts. Within heavy music, Deep Purple holds a "founding" status alongside Led Zeppelin and Sabbath. Deep Purple's influence is not weaker than that of Maiden, Judas Priest, or Motörhead.

Moreover, Sabbath's influence involves more of the dark and evil elements and ideologies affecting metal genres other than doom metal, rather than directly influencing songwriting and arrangement. Power metal, neoclassical metal, and progressive metal were all directly influenced by Deep Purple in terms of composition and arrangement. As for Led Zeppelin, their influence on other genres and overall popular culture is unparalleled, but within heavy music, Purple's influence can be considered comparable to Led Zeppelin.

Deep Purple directly influenced the three metal pioneers: Motörhead, Priest, and Maiden. They also significantly influenced the NWOBHM (New Wave of British Heavy Metal), including bands like Def Leppard and Saxon.

If you question these points, you might want to consider what people in the heavy music circle have said.

Iron Maiden ( https://faroutmagazine.co.uk/bruce-dickinson-on-the-influence-of-deep-purple-and-led-zeppelin/ ):
"Dickinson maintained that he 'was always a bigger Purple fan than Zeppelin.'"

Metallica ( https://www.thehighwaystar.com/news/2009/04/06/metallica-praises-deep-purple/ ):
"I'd say Deep Purple. If you say Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath, you also have to say Deep Purple. They come as a threesome."

In a documentary on heavy metal, various individuals were asked who the first metal band was. Lemmy stated it was Deep Purple.

Based on your statement, it seems like you think Deep Purple has a more limited influence on heavy music, and their induction is not because they significantly influenced heavy music but because they were famous with hit songs, similar to Ozzy, which is certainly limiting. In fact, Deep Purple, like Led Zeppelin, Sabbath, Maiden, Judas Priest, and Motörhead, is revered as a pioneer and a major progenitor in heavy music.

And now, still ANOTHER MOTOWN GROUP, THE COMMODORES, are going through THIS SAME NONSENSE, as the Hall of FAME has elected to induct LIONEL RICHIE ALONE…
And SNUB MILAN WILLIAMS, RON LaPREAD, WILLIAM KING, TOMMY McCLEARY, and 2nd Lead Singer WALTER "Clyde" ORANGE,
…but, KOOL & THE GANG get in INTACT ?
