I know I'm partial to the area, but Hitsville U.S.A. (in Detroit) deserves a spot. Unless Greg F. was referring to that when he mentioned Motown Records.

That's what I meant.

Well shoot, where do I start?

First, let me just say that I agree with all of the suggestions listed.
Here are some of Rock Hall-related landmarks that I have visited so far:

-Johnny Cash Boyhood home - Dyess, AR
-Chuck Berry statue - St. Louis, MO (a lot of other Chuck Berry-related sites I could list but this is probably the most notable)
-Site of the Beach Boys boyhood home - Hawthorne, CA (this is where the Wilson brothers grew up; obviously a lot of horrible memories for Brian happened here, but the site has a historical marker plus a shrine. David Marks' boyhood home , which still stands, is across the street.)
-Graceland, Memphis, TN
-Radio and Recorders Building, Hollywood, CA (the place was empty in August 2022 but a historical marker notes that was where Elvis, the Beach Boys and Nat King Cole, among others, have recorded during the 1950s and 1960s).
-Site of where American Bandstand originally broadcast, Philadelphia, PA (a historical marker sits in front of the building where Dick Clark first had the show; located in the West Philly neighborhood)
-12th Street and Vine corner, Kansas City, MO. (this section was once the scene of many jazz clubs, most of them frequented by African-Americans during the 1930s to the 1950s. This is referenced in the song "Kansas City". In recent years, the city of KC have erected a piano sculpture with future plans to develop the old site as a park.)

There are more places I could mention, but these are just some that are on top of my head at the moment. I hope to visit more including those mentioned in the above comments.

If there is any place worthy of designation as a Rock landmark it has to be the Grande Ballroom in Detroit. The list of major rock acts that performed at the Grande between 1968 and 1972 and now reside in the Rock Hall is simply unbelievable. From Led Zepplen's first North American tour, to the Who's first ever public performance of their Rock opera Tommy, the Grande hosted all the best that the rock world offered over those 4 glorious years. If you don't already know the Grande story, then just Google Grande Ballroom and check it out. If you cherish the history of rock and roll, then you will surely come to embrace the idea that the Grande belongs at the top of the list of landmarks worthy of recognition in the Rock Hall.

The Historic Mid - South Coliseum in Memphis is definitely deserving of LandMark Status. Beetles, Led Zeppelin, Van Halen. Elvis home arena where he recorded an album. The list of R& R hall of famers that performed @ MSC is too many to list.

I am an old hippie and I have heard many many bands in my 69 year career. I love FOGHAT and I do not understand how they can not be inducted into the Hall. I wish I knew what I could do to help them out. FOGHAT really should be in the Hall much more than many who are in now. That is my opinion.
