The Cars want The Mothers Of Invention, The Turtles, Flo & Eddie, Todd Rundgren, Devo and Kraftwerk inducted. Posted by Roy on Sunday, 04/15/2018 @ 15:31pm |
Anyone remember hearing “Happy Together” from the Super Smash Bros commercial during the N64 days? Posted by The Dude on Tuesday, 11/13/2018 @ 10:52am |
Dude, last 2 Weezer sets I saw this year, they covered 'Happy Together'. Posted by Paul in KY on Tuesday, 11/13/2018 @ 14:43pm |

Dude, maybe it's because the song is so much older? Also a straight 'song to a girl' vs whatever the Rains song is about. Posted by Paul in KY on Wednesday, 11/14/2018 @ 11:12am |
The Turtles were good enough to play on their own recordings which many groups of the 60's used the Wrecking Crew. I'm sure they used some studio musicians but you didn't get a better drummer than John Barbata. He was incredible. I just saw a show on YouTube about them and it was great. Got me wondering if they had made in into the RRHF. The Beatles loved their music. I get really irritated at the politics of the Hall of Fame. Grass Roots are another band I think warrants induction . All good comments here for a really great band that gave us all some great music to grow up with!! Good band. They deserve to be in. Why do the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame not induct them? Posted by Jake Burrows on Thursday, 03/4/2021 @ 06:50am |
The Turtles are an iconic part of the 1960' era of Rok n Roll, and are way past overdue getting into the R&R HOF. Their string if hits , that remain popular today are just a smidgeon of the many reasons they deserve induction. It's a shame they aren't in when talentless rap artists, (that I'll withhold naming for fear of retribution and / or trolls who don't know any better) who can't even carry a melody, let alone write one, and have maybe 1 or 2 "hits", and one hit wonders like Nirvana have been inducted. Mark Volman and Howard Kalyan , Flo and Eddie should have been inducted Years ago!! They are such a Huge part of the Americana Rock scene, plus their vocal talents have been used on hundreds of other artists albums over the years! Both in their 70's now, Please induct them before it's Too Late!! Posted by Mark Lee Pringle on Saturday, 10/30/2021 @ 21:03pm |

Come on... This band was there during the Golden Era of Roll and Roll! Many great timeless hits! An innovative band! Get it done! Posted by William Stearman on Friday, 05/27/2022 @ 19:48pm |
The Turtles are without a doubt one of the top ten groups of the '60s. Their music accurately depicts the transition from folk music to pop vs. folk to hard rock. Listening to the Turtles always made you feel good and want to sing along. Their vocals are unmatched. No one else should be admitted to the R&R hall of fame from this day forward until the Turtles are justly rewarded. Posted by Randall W Rydberg on Wednesday, 07/13/2022 @ 00:50am |
The Turtles were a talented rock band with great songs and one of the best male voices, Howard Kaylan. PLUS they were one of the few great bands who embraced humor as part of their band culture. Rock N Roll HOF. Do it!!! Posted by Randy Davis on Thursday, 12/22/2022 @ 15:31pm |
The Turtles/Flo & Eddie definitely deserve serious consideration for the rock n roll hall of fame. I mean, they had 9 top 40 hits, the most obvious being It Ain't Me Babe, You Baby, Happy Together, She'd Rather Be With Me, and Elenore. They definitely deserve their due Posted by Maxwell Raboin on Thursday, 01/12/2023 @ 15:53pm |
Essential Song: "You Showed Me" (1969) Posted by Bookhouse on Sunday, 02/5/2023 @ 11:25am |
The Turtles were an incredible hit machine late 60's. Their top 3 songs together are extraordinary. I'm in Cleveland, and the little dictator that ran the 'club' for 25 years had a falling out with Flo & Eddie, and vowed the Turtles would 'NEVER' be inducted! "They are the most talented band not in the hall!" Music is undeniable. Politics OUT. Induct them while they're alive! Please! They were terrific. Listen to their top songs! Their beautiful mesmerizing hypnotic music is the true heart and soul of the 60s and an enduring symbol of peace and love forever that made us all so happy together!
