3 comments so far (post your own)Definitely an underrated synth act that pioneered some fascinating experiments with sampling and sound collages and even crossed over to the hip-hop arena. God knows Moments in Love has been sampled by enough rappers at this point. I'd induct Kraftwerk, Gary Numan, New Order, Human League, Devo and a few other synth/electronica acts ahead of AON first, but AON would certainly be worthy enough to make it in second or third ballot (Not that I would expect the rockists at the HOF to recognize the enormous innovation and influence of 1970s and 1980s synth/electronic bands, which is one of the many reasons I regard the RRHOF as a colossal joke whose relevance has largely died, as Astrodog has previously indicated in other posts). Don't forget "Paranoimia", a duet with 80's digital Pseudo-celeb Max Headroom. Soooo cheesy... Posted by Michael W. on Wednesday, 01/15/2020 @ 15:09pm |
