10 comments so far (post your own)Melissa Etheridge has made significant contributions as a singer/songwriter as well as a performer. She is a consummate professional who has inspired many young aspiring artists. Her music moves many and her performances are electric. I would love to see Melissa inducted to the rock and roll hall of fame. After all, she was there for the opening of the museum, as was I, and I would gladly return to see her plaque on the wall. What makes a musician really good… Someone that's authentic in their art… Someone true to themselves… A musician who write their own songs… Singing their own songs and doing it for more than 30 years… THAT in my eyes is the best musicians of all times… Melissa Etheridge is magic… She is the most honest musician I have ever seen. She writes her soul into music. She is humble… She have a great voice!!! She also promote Rock and Roll and Soul Music... Posted by Tania Mans on Saturday, 05/30/2020 @ 08:15am |
Melissa should already be in the R&RHOF. Posted by Kristina Savoca on Monday, 09/28/2020 @ 11:34am |
Dionne Warwick is getting in yet Melissa Etheridge is not. Why? Melissa embodies what rock and roll is. Plus she has every requirement needed to get in and then some. An Oscar along with Grammy awards and many other accolades. I just would like to know why? It's not right. Posted by Donna on Friday, 02/12/2021 @ 08:03am |
Melissa should have been inducted long ago, for all the reasons already listed. No visits to the Hall of Fame for me until I can see her name there. Posted by Tamsen Bassford on Wednesday, 05/3/2023 @ 09:10am |
Come on, Melissa so deserves to be a member. What is the problem Posted by Robin Gillette on Monday, 07/3/2023 @ 22:20pm |
Melissa Etheridge has won 2 Grammy's, (nominated for 15) an Oscar, ASCAP Songwriter Of The Year, and a Lifetime Achievement Award in 2023. Last year she had a successful run on Broadway and has influenced so many artists, including Taylor Swift. This from a 35 year career which is still active. She has also been heavily involved with the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, inducting Janis Joplin in 1995 and Bonnie Raitt in 2000, performing at both, and also being at the opening concert of the RRHOF. In 2022 she was interviewed for The Go-Go's induction. How can someone who's done so much for the RRHOF then be snubbed when it's their turn?
