The Hall should have put the Sister in at least 25 years ago. With all the publicity Tharpe's had in the last 5 or so years (A PBS documentary, the declaration of Sister Rosetta Tharpe Day on 1/11/2008 in Pennsylvania, the installation of a proper gravestone for her, a recent biography, and her former Philadelphia home being approved as an historic site), the time is nigh for the Sister's rightful enshrinement. It better happen this year. Posted by Zach on Wednesday, 11/6/2013 @ 23:42pm |
Zach, I agree with you on the musical influences that Louis Jordan and Sister Rosetta Tharpe have pasted down to rock n' roll singers. Posted by Andrew on Thursday, 11/7/2013 @ 17:36pm |
Andrew, you've got some excellent picks on your movie list. You owe it to yourself to view Ray, as it is perhaps the best biopic of a musician I've seen (in terms of historical accuracy and aesthetic qualities). Posted by Zach on Friday, 11/8/2013 @ 12:51pm |
To answer your question, Zach, my gig at the record store was just great. I did mostly innvantory with tapes and records and put up posters. I wasn't allowed to interact with the customers, but in that kind of work, you just need to back off and let them do thier shopping without you butting in all the time. am i the only one who thinks these two would make a hella cute couple? Posted by GFW on Friday, 11/8/2013 @ 18:05pm |
GFW, let me tell you something: We enjoy talking about music. Just because Zach and I talk with each other a lot dosen't mean that you should pin us as a couple because we aren't. Posted by Andrew on Friday, 11/8/2013 @ 21:26pm |
GFW, please refrain from such juvenile commentary. Andrew and I are enjoying our discussion and don't need children like you interrupting. Now go back to your Carly Rae Jepsen records and let the adults have the table. Posted by Zach on Saturday, 11/9/2013 @ 12:04pm |

Naah, you're just deluding yourself if you seriously believe you're above me. For one, your typing skills are atrocious. Please refrain from responding to any of my future posts, as you lack the coherency and the knowledge to carry on any type of conversation. Muchas gracias. GFW, let me tell you something: you are not better then Zach or me or anyone else on this site, and you can pack up all that teenage arrogance and leave as it is impossibe for you to carry on any type of conversation about music due to your lack of knowledge.
