Stephan Jenkins was a member of Puck and Natty. They performed the track "Just Wanna Be Your Friend" on the 1992 Beverly Hills 90210 soundtrack.

Honestly 3eb were mismarketed and miscoined at this alt rockish boy band / sex symbols when there was so much more to their music than what they played on the pop stations. You need to honestly give these guys a listen, and you'll find their music is about much more than just girls. Their music is about, well, the trials and tribulations of a 90s kid, pure and simple.

These guys were super influential in my life and if you ask me you'd be doing an injustice NOT to add these guys to the rock and roll hall of fame.

Another important thing to note- they never compromised on their sound. They never "sold out". Their entire discography can be taken as one cohesive whole.

Dunno about you guys, but I think they deserve it, they have a lot of songs that deserve more recognition such as the background and god of wine, you should really give them a listen and maybe youll change your mind, at least listen to their debut album, which is absolute PERFECTION and their best album.

I thought I'd commented about these guys already, but I saw them play Lolla back in 2018 on a hot afternoon at Grant Park. They played on the 'Clamshell Stage' (forget what they call it, but is the permanent one there in the corner. About 3 or 4 in afternoon. Had a huge crowd for that time period. Just about completely filled up the big meadow that makes up that portion of park.

Played all their hits to a very enthusiastic audience. I think they are a great band. Love seeing them live. They need about 2 or 3 more 'Semi-Charmed Life' level songs to have any kind of chance. This is the kind of band, IMO, that's inducted 20 years after all members are dead, due to a critical re-evaluation of their career.

Great music Great video's. Their music is so much more than just music. It set trends in the late 90's early 00's along with the Goo Goo Dolls, Lifehouse, The Frey and Matchbox these groups set the bar for Lite Rock in this Era

Kathy

Funny that you mention Third Eye Blind. Back in March when vulture did the infamous interview with the two anonymous hall voters, things turned sour when they discussed Sheryl Crow. One anonymous hall voter who did not vote for Sheryl Crow tried to make the case that what she did back in the 90s was no different from Hootie and the Blowfish and Third Eye Blind. Basically what the voter was saying was that all three were doing the same thing: mixing alternative rock with adult contemporary (the triple-a music format for the NPR crowd).

3EB is a great 90s alternative band. First Album definitely should be on Rolling Stone's 500. Next 2 albums are great. Unfortunately, Stephan Jenkins consolidated control over the band and fired guitarist Kevin Cadogan and his replacement Tony Fredianelli as well bass guitarist Arion Salazar. I'd argue they were more innovative then alot of the post-grunge bands at the time and they should get in before them. Later albums are decent. But with a few big hits and deep cut gems, they deserve an induction, though Rock HOF has only inducted the biggest 90s bands like Nirvana/Green Day/Foo Fighters/Pearl Jam. They also influenced some emo/pop-punk bands like All Time Low and Boys like Girls.

Not getting in. Faded out very quickly. Half their record sales came from debut.
