By the time they started calling themselves "The World's Greatest Rock N' Roll Band" in the late 60s, they had already staked out an impressive claim for the title. As the dangerous alternative to the peace and love music of The Beatles, The Stones pioneered the dirty hard-driving rock and roll that would later be known as heavy metal. I think rolling stones are a fantastic band. Mick Jagger has a distinctive voice and Keith Richards has a good, simple, solid guitar style. Longevity wise they are the best out there and masters of their songwriting craft. Posted by Steve Smithson on Monday, 09/30/2019 @ 12:33pm |

I like them, but why do their early recordings sound so murky and low audio quality? Their contemporaries like The Beatles and The Who never sounded as bad as this. The Stones deserved a better recording sound. Posted by Jason Marley on Tuesday, 04/21/2020 @ 20:53pm |
