****MARVIN JUNIOR of THE DELLS (1936-2013)****

R.I.P. to MARVIN JUNIOR, powerhouse lead singer of the mighty DELLS- 2004 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Inductees....and one of the most POWERFUL lead singers EVER.
The Dells are one of the longest-lasting groups (of ANY kind) , in music history...with a history that goes back to 1952.They have had no less than 49 Pop & R&B Chart Hits.

MARVIN JUNIOR, the powerful baritone lead singer of Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inducted group the DELLS, and the legendary lead singer of such Pop and R&B hits as "Oh What a Night, "There Is", "Stay In My Corner", and "The Love We Had Stays on My Mind" ,and "Give Your Baby a Standing Ovation", died this past Wednesday, May 29th, 2013, at his home in Harvey, Illinois. He was 77. He was the third member of the long-running group to pass away. The other members were the group's other lead singer, first tenor Johnny Carter, who passed away in 2009, and Johnny Funches, who Carter replaced in 1960,who died in 1998. The replacement of Funches with Carter was the only personnel change in the long-running group's 60 year history.

Condolences to the remaining members, Verne Allison, Chuck Barksdale, and Mickey McGill, Marvin's family, and Dells fans worldwide.

The Dells recorded first hit Oh, What a Night in 1956, and this group should be eligble in 1986 not 1991.
