2 comments so far (post your own)Tammy Wynette's enormous contribution to Country music is of course unquestionable. However, her impact on Rock and Roll and some of its greatest artists must not be ignored. One needs only to look to the playlist of her recordings with such other top tier artists as Elton John, Sting, Smokey Robinson, and many others. Yet it is her amazing, intense and soulful voice that stands apart. As a music influence, the masterpiece, Stand By Your Man has been featured in numerous films, and has become a widely used catch phrase in books, television and commentary. Tammy Wynette is a special artist whose crossover influence is internationally recognized. She should be, without reservations, be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
