7 comments so far (post your own)I know they are a long shot but Talk Talk should get into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Mark Hollis was a true rebel and a genius who didn't give into music industry pressure and created some of the most beautiful, complex and fascinating music ever recorded. Paul Webb is a very underrated bass player Posted by Zack on Wednesday, 08/20/2014 @ 18:02pm |
Talk Talk should be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Mark Hollis is a beautiful singer, a true original and an innovative genius. Check out his mesmerising performance in their Live at Montreux concert. As far as the songs go, It's My Life and Talk Talk were just the beginning. How about Such a Shame, the hauntingly beautiful Tomorrow Started, I Don't Believe in You, Renée and,the most mind blowing of all their songs, Living in Another World? Their last two albums, Spirit of Eden and Laughing Stock, are both timeless masterpieces. Mark Hollis and Talk Talk are by far more deserving of induction into the Rock Hall of Fame than a lot of less influential and less essential artists that have already been inducted. Greatest group the world's ever seen. The word genius doesn't even begin to describe Mark Hollis. Obviously they should be in the Hall of Fame but it matters not as the real greats cared nothing for trinkets and often in the beginning had little commercial success in the media driven dross music market. If Devo can get in there, Talk Talk is for a much wider audience, and with the post-rock and wave period they still managed to write very timeless songs. Talk Talk should be inducted. Posted by hugo on Tuesday, 05/23/2023 @ 07:15am |
