I agree with everyone else. If there had been no Suzi Quatro, there would be no Runaways, Joan Jett, Pink, or any other female rocker. The Bangles and the Go-Go's might never have existed, either. She may not have been as famous here, but Quatro's influence is more than obvious. Induct her!

She was the first credible female hard rocker, even before Joan Jett. She definitely deserves a plaque in that museum in Cleveland. Her chances of getting in are decreased by the fact that she was largely ignored in her native USA--- except when she played Leather Tuscadero on Happy Days.

All I can say is she is LONG OVER DUE! Hopefully they will wake up and give Suzi the credit and recognition she deserves! She should have been inducted a long time ago.

I don't understand why Suzi Quatro hasn't been inducted yet. She kicked down the door for other female rockers. Joan Jett, Chrissie Hynde, Cherie Curie etc have all cited her as a major influence. Joan was just inducted...why not her idol? It's high time you considered her. Suzi has been rocking for over 50 years now and is still going strong. Come on, induct her already.

she has contributed so much to rock music and is affectionately known as the queen of rock. It's a crime that suzi has been overlooked. She is one of the few living legends. Paul East

I'm bewildered as to WHY it's not happened already! Get your act together R & R Hall. Where would Joan Jett & MANY others be, if not for Suzi paving the way for other women of rock?

Put her in the hall. Been making great music for 50 years.

Suzi was a pioneer in rock music. First lady to pick up an instrument and front a rock band. An inspiration to so many women after her( ex. Joan Jett, pat benatar, ect.) Sold over 50 million records worldwide, and still rocking today.
Suzi Quarto belongs in the Rock'nRoll Hall of Fame.

Suzi,is long over due for this honor!! She should have been put in The Rock'n Roll Hall of Fame a very very long time ago!! If it wasn't for her, there would have been no Girl Bands, especially The Runaways, the Donnas,No Joan Jett,Cherie Curri, and I can just keep going forever,Suzi is the real deal, she broke down so many barriers for women, you need to put the original Leather One in The Rock'n Roll Hall of Fame,Please!!! She is still going strong after 50 years of being in the business, and she is still kicking it on stage!!!!

Posted by Jamie on Monday, 08/24/2015 @ 10:28am

Suzi was and still is a Michigander at heart. She was given an offer to go to England and have her own band using her given name as well as another offer from a producer her in the states wanting to make her the next Joplin. She made the correct choice unfortunately she was not promoted in her home country. She should have been in the hall of fame long ago. I listened to the speaker for Joan Jett and am ashamed as to how this talented young lady has turned out. But Suzi has held true to Suzi after all these years. She continues to make new music and gigs throughout the year. Rumor has it that there is talk of her bringing her one woman show to Broadway. I have traveled to the UK and Germany to see her preform and it was worth every penny. She is the same today as she was in the 1970's. No need to change perfection. It is pass time for her to have her spot in the hall of fame.

Suzi Quatro, the very first female Rock Singer. She is the originalone! with no Suzi Quatro is worthy to be in the Rock'n Roll Hall of Fame! If Joan Jett has been inducted into, Suzi Quatro should have been there far before!

Put Suzi quatro int the Rock'n Roll Hall of Fame!
She has been worthy to be there for years aleready! If Joan Jett has been there, why not Suzi Quatro?? Suzi was the first one and still is the original one. There were no Girls like her before. she opend the door for many other girl, Suzi Quatro was the hero for Joan, and now, the hero is not in the HoF...? Strange.....

Suzi Quatro was and still is very talented and I agree that the refusal of the selection snobs to even nominate her is just plain wrong. But while many are giving credit to Suzi for being the first rock-n-roll chick, we should remember that "Fanny" was not just a chick with a bass. It was a true BAND of rock-n-roll chicks! Check them out... you'll be glad ya did!

Bud, I just don't think Suzi has enough quality material to get into the Hall. She has a case, but not enough, IMO.

Posted by Paul in KY on Thursday, 02/14/2019 @ 07:02am

what are you talking about she had tons of quality material...songs like can the can, 48 crash, devil gate drive, your mama won't like me, the wild one, get back mama, the race is on, if you can't give me love, don't change my luck, Suicide, heart of stone, too big, and that's just a few....she belongs in R&R hall of fame.... SHE SHOULD HAVE BEEN INDUCTED YEARS AGO.

Posted by Gary Barlow on Thursday, 01/16/2020 @ 05:34am

She definitely would be in the rrhof if it was legitimate. The problem is that it is not legitimate.
You have rap artists and watered down crap like radiohead. So even though she deserves to get in, I wouldn't get too worked up about it.

Suzi Quatro has lasted the distance and continues to rock in 2021 . Suzi didn't get lucky . Suzi has earned her career and place. In Rock History . Any RRHOF without Suzi Quatro is like having a royal family with no Queen. I have been a fan for over 40 years and Suzi remains one of the few living legends .

Suzi deserves R'R Induction more than most give her credit.... it is due!!!

Posted by Danie Schoeman on Friday, 04/9/2021 @ 19:43pm

She is definitely the definition of what a person or group needs to be to get inducted. Her contributions to Rock and Roll are far above many that have already been inducted. This needs to happen. ASAP, if not sooner as they say! She was definitely one of the main women pioneers of rock and roll of her time! Come on RHOF let's make this happen.

Posted by Chris on Thursday, 02/24/2022 @ 21:53pm

Quite frankly I am just amazed that she has not been inducted...... Suzi is the Queen of Rock!! I have looked at some of these lists, some of the suggestions for nomination are Pop not Rock'n'Roll!! Dolly, not Rock, but an absolute Queen for taking herself out of the race. I hope that Suzi gets her rightful place soon!! Long live the Queen of Rock!!!!

I'm a scientist, and we make decisions based on facts, not because we feel like it. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is probably rolling the dice to find the next nominees. If they looked at the facts, like Suzi Quatro opened the door for EVERY WOMAN in rock music, they couldn't ignore her. She had endless hits and was not "made" a musician like so many others - she is a musician body and soul. If the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame doesn't induct Suzi, they lose the legitimacy of being an important institution. And furthermore: if they don't include Suzi, they ignore half of the world: us women.

Posted by Michaela Jochter on Saturday, 05/13/2023 @ 12:32pm

My first message I left on this site was back in 2015 (8 years ago).

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame will always be incomplete without Suzi Quatro inducted. Suzi has been rocking for over 50 years and in 2023 will be the 50th Anniversary of "Can he Can " her first hit single which reached Number 1 world wide.
Suzi has sold over 55 Million albums and continues to tour at 73 year old. Both Joan Jet and the Runaways were heavily influenced by Suzi Quatro who showed them women could rock and front a band and play an instrument at the same time. It is hard not to believe this is just one big rock and roll snub by not inducting Suzi Quatro who was eligible to be inducted from 1999 (24 years ago) .

Currently the RRHOF is like the Royal Family without a Queen :(

Posted by Paul on Sunday, 06/4/2023 @ 00:53am

I only live 30 miles from the rock hall. (Notice no caps). I have only been there once and that was when it first opened. I will never go again until Suzi Quatro is inducted. People talk about her influence on the women that came after her, but she also was a major influence on many of the male rockers that were just getting started. Her stage presence was amazing. It's unbelievable to me that Suzi isn't in and Joan Jett is. For that matter the Runaways should have been in long ago as well.

E' incredibile che Suzi Quatro non sia stata ancora nella RRHOF!

Posted by MAURIZIO ROSATI on Wednesday, 03/5/2025 @ 00:11am

Unbelievable that in 2025 Suzi Quatro still has not made the list of potential inductees. Honestly, it's an absolute travesty and it shows that those behind the R&RHOF are not in any way cognisant of the roll of women in rock. Until Quatro, the first woman bass player to front a band, the leather-clad feminist who literally paved the way for every other woman in rock who followed, is inducted into the HOF, they are just a joke. Shame, shame, shame.

Nomination for Suzi Quatro for Induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame

It is with great enthusiasm that I submit this nomination for Suzi Quatro to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Quatro's contributions to the world of rock music are unparalleled, not only for her musical talent but for her groundbreaking influence as one of the first women to truly rock in a male-dominated industry. Over five decades of music, performance, and leadership, Suzi has proved time and again that she is a pioneering force whose place in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is long overdue.

A Pioneering Force in Rock Music
In an era where women were often relegated to back-up roles, Suzi Quatro shattered barriers as the first female bassist to front her own rock band. She was a trailblazer, redefining what it meant to be a female rock artist. Before Joan Jett, Chrissie Hynde, or Patti Smith, Suzi Quatro was already showing the world that women could rock just as hard, and, more importantly, be integral to shaping the sound of rock music.

Quatro's ability to command the stage as both a powerful musician and captivating performer helped create space for female rock musicians to step into the limelight, often in ways that defied the traditional roles assigned to women in music at the time. As one of the first rockers to embody a rebellious, leather-clad attitude that would later be echoed by countless female rockers, Suzi was undoubtedly the catalyst for an entire generation of women to take up instruments, write their own music, and rock hard. Joan Jett, Lita Ford, and the Runaways all credit Suzi as an influence, and it is clear that her impact on the rock scene is immeasurable.

Musical Legacy and Achievements
Suzi Quatro's career is an extraordinary journey of success, both critically and commercially. Her debut album, Suzi Quatro (1973), was a massive international success, and her hits, including "48 Crash," "Can the Can," and "Devil Gate Drive," remain iconic to this day. Quatro's ability to seamlessly blend glam rock, proto-punk, and pop into her unique sound set her apart and gave her the ability to transcend musical trends. She not only made music that was catchy and memorable but also infused it with raw energy and power, making her one of the few female rock musicians of her time to have a profound and lasting impact on the genre.

In addition to her global success with hit singles, Quatro sold over 50 million records worldwide and charted in more than 25 countries. Her music has stood the test of time, and she continues to perform for adoring fans around the world to this day. Suzi's albums and singles have influenced generations of musicians, from punk to hard rock, and her presence in pop culture has left an indelible mark. Her legacy as a pioneering woman in rock is undeniable, and her induction into the Hall would be a testament to her lasting influence.

Awards and Recognition
Suzi Quatro's career has been celebrated with numerous accolades, some of which highlight the breadth and depth of her impact on rock music:

Commercial Success: With over 50 million records sold worldwide and chart success in more than 25 countries, Suzi Quatro remains one of the most successful female rock artists of all time.

Hit Singles: "Can the Can" (1973), "48 Crash" (1973), and "Devil Gate Drive" (1974) were all massive chart hits. "Devil Gate Drive" reached No. 1 in the UK, establishing her as a major player in the rock scene.

Classic Rock Roll of Honour Award (2006): Quatro was awarded the Best Female Rock Artist honor, cementing her status as a trailblazer in the genre.

Lifetime Achievement Award (2019): In recognition of her pioneering role in rock music, Suzi received a Lifetime Achievement Award at the International Women's Day Awards.

She was inducted into the Michigan Rock and Roll Legends Hall of Fame in 2016 and continues to be celebrated worldwide, not only for her music but for her significant contributions to the role of women in rock music.

Cultural Impact and Influence
Beyond her commercial success, Suzi's cultural influence is immeasurable. In 1977, she appeared as the iconic character Leather Tuscadero on the hit TV show Happy Days, where her portrayal as a tough, independent rock singer made her a household name in the United States. This role brought her a new level of visibility and solidified her as a symbol of female empowerment in popular culture.

Suzi's stage presence and unapologetic attitude were key components of her appeal. She showed the world that women could perform, rock, and be powerful, challenging conventions around femininity and women in music. Her dynamic performances and rebellious spirit have left a lasting legacy that has resonated with audiences for over 50 years.

Why She Deserves to be Inducted
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame has honored numerous artists who have had a lasting impact on the genre, and Suzi Quatro is no exception. Her influence on the rock landscape, particularly in regard to female representation, cannot be overstated. She not only helped pave the way for future generations of female rock musicians, but she also exemplified the very spirit of rock and roll—defying conventions, breaking boundaries, and creating music that would stand the test of time.

Her induction into the Hall of Fame would not only honor her remarkable career but also acknowledge the vital contributions that women have made to the genre. To overlook Suzi Quatro is to ignore the foundational role she played in shaping rock music, and it would be an injustice to future generations who may not fully understand the extent of her impact.

Conclusion
Suzi Quatro is one of the most influential and deserving rock musicians to ever pick up a bass guitar. From her groundbreaking contributions to the sound and image of rock music to her trailblazing role as a female musician, she has earned her place among the greatest artists in rock history. Suzi Quatro is a true icon, and her induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is long overdue.

Let us finally recognize the immense legacy of the Queen of Rock and enshrine her place in the Hall of Fame where she belongs.

Suzi Quatro's impact on rock music and culture cannot be overstated, and it is with great pride that I nominate her for this honor.

Had never heard of her until Jan 2025. Was looking at director bio, David Lynch, of Twin Peaks, etc etc who had just passed which then led to Sherilyn Fenn page --- who as matter of fact is Suzi's cousin. This led my discovery. Coincidentally, I'd also been studying the R8 Quattro just before for several weeks or months. Quatro may have been in my sub-conscious being born 1970 Lansing, Mich and being back da U. P. since 2016. Listened to tens of thousands of albums from the '60s to 2000s. Never heard of her. But, am ecstatic I finally did. Still enjoying the studio musician quality of the albums. Have the boxed sets remastered with extras; and some originals lps. Love Aggrophobia etc. It is very naturally eclectic and electrik! She was ignored because was a true independent. She did not sell out. So no airplay or promo in US. And no r&r hall "fame" nom too. To bad. She doesn't care that much me suspects; but a little. (Not that all inductees sold out but a lot did and more selling than that.) Len Tuckey (if it's not Scottish) and Dave Neal and all the others who have been with her are amazing and likeable musicians. Tuckey had amazing riffs and grooves and Neal could really pound those skins. I could care less she is her (though respect the fact), her music eclipses "gender" and is real fresh over the passed year. She's virtually all I listen to after a near hiatus from music for a decade or so.. AND methinks she unofficially took down the steel curtain with her live performance in Prague 1978. Awesome. Thing that does bother is she seems to ignored by those who consider themselves aficianados or enthusiasts. They're missing out on the fun of Suzi Quatro! Oh, and Leather, yes was a fan at 8 of Happy Days & Fonz and do remember her since rewatching very very well.
