As you might have heard, Spirit are suing Led Zeppelin over "Stairway to Heaven" sounding like the intro to their cut "Taurus." The band was a major part of the Los Angeles psychedelic rock scene in the late Sixties, and should be remembered for reasons other than an alleged act of plagiarism. Spirit was a great band! 12 Dreams .. what an album. Listen to the songs about ecology. So relevant today.
Probably never make it to the HOF, but doesn't mean we can't enjoy them.

Myself and 2 other HS friends had a party pad in fall '73. I brought a Spirit album home to share.

My buds, plus numerous others took notice of their music.

2nd time that I was the cool dude, the first being my state issued fake ID, which provided us with booze several years early. TY typos!!

As one who was there, I can can honestly say there wasn't a better act at the Fillmore West in San Francisco 1969 than Spirit….

Are you kidding me? They were an influential/seminal group in the late 60's early 70's. I saw them at the Fillmore West in '69 and they blew the crowd away. They were in the iconic movie Model Shop. They suffered bad press because of the Led Zeppelin lawsuit but were a great group with major hits such as Mechanical World, I Got a Line On You and Fresh Garbage. Dolly Parton is in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and not Spirit? We should all be ashamed!…..

Spirit was an iconic band of the '70's with a very unique sound with incredible lyrics. Who can forget Mr. Skin? Must be in the Hall.
