First recording was circa 1982-84 so she should would been elgible earlier than this or if its mainstream than this, it is accurately correct

Selena's voice and music was absolutely beautiful. I love her music. Too bad we didn't get to see and hear what else she would have accomplished after age what, 22? Maybe there should be a catagory for artists cut down before or in their prime. Not talking about self destruction.

Given the fact that she was on the verge of making a crossover album and the fact that she was about to bring her brand of Tejano music to the mainstream and do it at such a young age would have changed some part of the music industry and if that's not excellence in music, then I must truly be naive. She should be inducted into the hall of fame based on that merit and other accolades she won as a young artist. At least a consideration.

She was singing and changing lives of those around her since she was like 8 yrs old. Its not any fault of hers a bad person took her away from us, and for the 13 aprox yrs she was on this planet, she accomplished as much or more then many in the business. Imagine what we missed or what else she could of done, thats all we can do. But we can acknowledge at least what she gave us and accomplished while she was here. She wasnt found on a reality tv show, her roots run deep in music. Future female and hispanic singers owe her something for breaking down barriers as well.
Please bring her to light, as we all miss her.

I don't see why not. They've expanded their range in the last few years. Why not induct one of the biggest Tejano artist from the United States. Her music is still popular to this day regardless if you're fluent in Spanish or not. She should be the first primarily singing Spanish artist inducted. Selena is long overdue for an induction. You can't deny her influence in the music industry.

Selena is one of the most famous Latino/a artists and a key figure in Hispanic history. She could be called the Queen of Trejano as she really popularized it. There was a biopic about her that released in 1997. I feel like she's an artist like Ritchie Valens. They're both hispanic artists who died young with biopics that could be shown in high school Spanish classes. I feel like that's enough to justify her getting in.
