This is a class act that has a totally distinct writing, arranging, harmony and lyrical content. They had enough hits and a career. This is one of the many that the HOF has left off of their list. Poor commentary on the HOF.

It's unbelievable that Seals and Crofts are not in the hall. With so many "non rock and rollers that have been elected, the hall continues to show why it is a joke!

I can't believe this amazing duo has not yet been inducted into the Rock and Roll hall of fame. The music they have made is unprecedented!! How are they ignored??!! I was so very surprised when checking to find out they were not. So disappointing!!

Rest in Peace Jim Seals, 1941-2022.

May Jim Seals rest in peace!

My all-time favorite songs by Seals & Crofts are...

Summer Breeze (1972)
Hummingbird (1973)
Diamond Girl (1973)
We May Never Pass This Way (Again) (1973)
I'll Play for You (Hear the Band) (1975)
Get Closer (1976) featuring Carolyn Willis

"This is Casey on American Top 40 and now, the first Top 40 hit by a duo from Texas, one of whom won the Texas state fiddle championship when he was only 9 years old, now that wasn't any junior class competition it was open to all comers and, he was competing against violinists, of all ages, his name is Jim Seals and he tells this story, when he was 4 years old he fell in love with the fiddle music he heard pretty often, when his grandpa's country music group came to his house for hoedowns, and he talked his grandpa into ordering a fiddle for him, from the Sears Catalog, but when it arrived, it was a big shock to this little kid that he couldn't play the instrument, and he was so frustrated that he hid it under the bed for a whole year, until one night he said, he dreamed that he could play, and when he awoke, he decided to give it another try, he picked up his fiddle, and found that he could play, so he studied and practiced, and got pretty good, and 4 years later, when he was 9 years old, he took his fiddle to Athens, Texas, and walked away with the state fiddle championship in 1952, 20 years later Jim Seals and his partner Dash Crofts have their first Top 40 hit, at #11, here's Summer Breeze..." - Casey Kasem's American Top 40 from December 9th, 1972

RIP, Mr. Seals. Their music was the music of my youth. 'Diamond Girl' can take me back to the early 70s in my head. Transistor radio, going up to the local swimming pool, no worries...

Jim Seals, Seals & Crofts Singer Behind 'Summer Breeze,' Dead at 80
In the early-Seventies, nobody embodied the soft-rock boom in pop music more than Seals and musical partner Darrell "Dash" Crofts

My most sincere condolences to the family and friends of Jim Seals on his passing. By the way, 'Summer Breeze' has been one of my favorite songs since the early 1970's. Although I do not own any individual
studio recordings by Seals and Crofts, I do own a compilation of their best songs:

Well, what do you think?

It's all about the money and how many they can bring through the doors...not talent.
If it was about talent and natural ability we would have seen them the year they were eligible. To bad...long live their music.

Their song "Summer Breeze" brings back memories of my youthful years , sitting in a park with a gal, savoring the warm breezes blowing softly around. It is such a great song, bringing emotional feelings. I really miss those early 70's.

One of the best duo songwriters. Their strong catalogue of songs and performances should make them definitely members of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Shame on the Rock for not responding.

Rest in Peace Darrell George "Dash" Crofts, 1940-2026.

The singles category was made for "Summer Breeze". Probably the most well-known single AM rock song of the 70s

R.I.P. Dash Crofts. You and Jim were an important part of the tapestry of my life's musical journey. :-)

Why are they not in the Rock Hall of Fame?. It was the softer side of rock during the tumultuous 70s, they were great. Some of the nominated in the past have nothing to do with rock, don't get it.
