I love the Ramones I'm only twelve but I've been listening to them since I was eight. I'm so sad none of my classmates know these guys.

The Ramones are one of the greatest bands of all time. Forty years on and still relevant, still fresh and still unique. Not a punk band or rock band to touch them for longevity and stamina. Some great songs and a bigger range than people give them credit for. Listen to Questioningly, Havana Affair and Daytime Dilemma. Three great songs, vastly different styles. Joey actually became a really great singer. I had the honour of seeing them live a few times - they were great. BTW, I also love Blondie and the New York Dolls - there's room for all three in the Hall Of Fame.

The Ramones once publicly stated they don't like Styx, Kansas, and Foreigner. Old men playing music for your mothers and fathers. They just want to clean up music and push mediocrity on the public. Rock and Roll is for punks. Real Rock and Roll is punk. Not into glitter and glamour.

Their abilities were quite low. Of course, they would want to put down Kansas or Foreigner. Any beginner guitarist can learn quite a few Ramones songs within a few months of practice. Kansas, etc songs take a lot more work.

Ultimately, they were okay, but the praise for them is overdone. They didn't have huge record sales or a great catalog (most albums after 1980 aren't that good - the band tension did not help).
