15 comments so far (post your own)Ian Hunter should be listed as a nominee for his solo work ... better odds of getting in than his old band. Posted by Jay on Tuesday, 08/27/2013 @ 11:18am |
I think after T. Rex, Mott the Hoople should be the next in line for Glam Rock. Posted by Steve Z on Wednesday, 12/23/2015 @ 23:29pm |

R.I.P. Dale Griffin. Great talent. Lots of excellent musicians passing away this month Posted by Steve Z on Monday, 01/18/2016 @ 21:57pm |
It is a crime that Mott The Hoople never achieved superstar status in the United States. Anyone who has listened to their live album knows that this band kicks ass! Posted by Dennis D on Wednesday, 04/13/2016 @ 14:20pm |

The Hall loses legitimacy without Mott in it. I keep looking for them under M.They are the quintessential epitome of Rock in it's Golden age. Posted by T.J. Kiernan on Saturday, 11/4/2017 @ 17:05pm |
Mott/Ian Hunter, T Rex/Marc Bolan, Slade and the rest of Bowie's band aka The Spiders From Mars/Mick "Ronno" Ronson NOT being included is insulting. If the Brit bands would all actually make good on not showing up for the $10K a seat induction ceremony until they are included would serve the wankers on the HoF's selection committee where their brains are. Singles Category. All The Young Dudes is all you need from them. Posted by Follower on Saturday, 03/30/2019 @ 14:39pm |
One of the essential 70s British bands. They are plenty good enough for the rock and roll hall of fame. Posted by Steelydanfan on Thursday, 09/3/2020 @ 11:23am |
No doubt in my Mind that Mott the Hoople should be inducted into the hall. Such a great band. Ian Hunter, Mick Ronson and the rest. Please, they deserve it. Posted by Wayne Cook on Wednesday, 03/31/2021 @ 19:35pm |
I can't understand how T-Rex is in (they deserve to be) and not Mott. Their musicianship and influences are iconic. I know Joe Elliott (Def Leppard) has cited them as a major influence, and for those knuckleheads that view them as a one-hit wonder have no clue whatsoever. They've already lost 2 original members ... let's not drag this out another year, please. They've been eligible for 26 years and not one nomination? Absolutely pathetic and disrespectful. I first heard Mott on the Island records sampler 'Bumpers' in 1970 ... Posted by Simon Haddock on Wednesday, 01/12/2022 @ 10:09am |
Should have been in on 1st or 2nd ballot. A travesty. Posted by StunningStocktaker on Saturday, 02/5/2022 @ 12:17pm |
