She gets mentioned for the "Mariah dog whistle" but she's crazy influential on neo-soul. Kate Bush namechecked her and you can def. tell on Kate's first album she was listening to Minnie's music. Sampled by A Tribe Called Quest, Erykah Badu, Kendrick Lamar, Pharrell, Ice Cube, Wiz Khalifa, Puffy, Eminem, NAS, Xzibit, and in Questlove's playlists. Stevie Wonder produced "Perfect Angel" which is a fantastic album and considering how busy he was, hard to believe he even had the time to work on this classic gem. Definitely should be in the Rock Hall. Posted by Danny on Friday, 09/11/2020 @ 20:08pm |
Is that even a question . Of course i think Minnie should be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame . With a voice like Minnie's who knows what to expect once she puts out a song. Take for example , "Reasons" and "Everytime He Comes Around" . Both bomb ass rock sensational pieces from a voice that doesnt even scream rock and roll if you heard her once. I mean come on people. Minnie's voice has proven so much potential over the years that its hard to even place her in a specific genre . The woman is in a class by herself . And just look at all the artist who have sampled her music and who have been inspired by her. Youd really have to study Minnie and get soaked up into her music to see where im coming from . I rest my case Posted by Ashada Carter on Sunday, 11/8/2020 @ 22:14pm |

Yes I think Mrs. Ripperton should be considered. She has an excellent voice and a decent career. She mainly had Soul hits so most aren't aware of her. I'm afraid with only one Pop hit (Loving You) she will never get in. Posted by Jose Brown on Wednesday, 06/19/2024 @ 15:04pm |

Minnie has an amazing voice! She is legendary. She belongs in the Hall of fame if anyone does. Posted by Patricia Hill on Sunday, 10/20/2024 @ 20:02pm |
Her mere musicality; voice, song interpretation, production value of work, organic sensory influence, meaning in her material and her talent. Posted by Tracey Willard on Wednesday, 10/23/2024 @ 19:16pm |
