Listen to Mojo Nixon's song "Rock and Roll Hall of Lame." That says it all. Posted by Roger Hinson on Saturday, 04/18/2015 @ 20:13pm |
Long overdue and much deserved, Little Feat belongs in the Rock Hall. Period. Posted by Tim on Saturday, 08/19/2017 @ 10:55am |
RRHOF needs a 'veterans committee' like baseball has to keep the chuckleheads ruining things. Current inductees would welcome them in a heartbeat. Posted by Jim O'Brien on Tuesday, 08/22/2017 @ 23:46pm |
Little Feat has never been nominated, and they are one of the best bands of the seventies, and one of the best American bands, ever. Posted by Mark on Tuesday, 06/5/2018 @ 22:29pm |
Rest in Peace Paul Barerre, 1948-2019. Posted by |
Greatness shouldnt be forgotten. Posted by Donna on Tuesday, 11/5/2019 @ 08:31am |
The best live band to ever play. I have seen them on five separate occasions. Never sat down the whole time they played. Should have been inducted 20 years ago. I guess they'll get inducted after all have passed. I imagine heaven is rocking with Lowell, Richy and Paul. Posted by Robert on Thursday, 11/28/2019 @ 15:32pm |
I don't know how who all cited them as an influence, but I binged on their music today. Not impressed. I thought they were so bland, they should be marketed as health food. I hope they were as influential as people on this thread were saying, because their records are not that exciting, at all. Posted by Philip on Saturday, 02/29/2020 @ 23:17pm |
It's a known fact that they influenced many musicians. For starters, if they didn't outright influence their song writing LF certainly influenced how they absorbed and thought about music. I'm talking about Bonnie Raitt, Emmylou Harris, Robert Palmer, etc. According to Wikipedia Billy Payne "... is considered by many other rock pianists, including Elton John to be one of the finest American piano rock and blues musicians." Having witnessed LF's performances in Wash. DC in the late '70s - including the 'Waiting for Columbus' tracks at Lisner Auditorium (1977) ... all I can say is that they completely changed my outlook on life in a substantially wonderful way ... what a wonderful ride. So much so that I started a Little Feat band .. and we only played Little Feat songs because that's all that was necessary to play. Please admit them to the R'n'R Hall of Fame - they rightly deserve it. Posted by Martin on Saturday, 04/18/2020 @ 01:29am |
I first heard Little Feat in the 70's and was captured by the quality of the musicianship, Lowell George's beautifully melodic slide the poly rhythms they utilised,, the blend of genres that were seamless to the point of originality and last but no means least the song writing. No one sounds like Little Feat. Why they are already not inducted is an absolute mystery to me. Ask Jimmy Page what he thinks or Bonnie Raitt or Vince Gill or Eric Clapton or Dave Matthews. I can't imagine they would be anything but enthusiastic about this amazing band's inclusion in the R and R hall of fame. By the way you left The Last Record Album off the list of Essential Albums.. In 1977 and 1978, the live shows by Little Feat rivaled the Grateful Dead and Bruce Springsteen & E Street Band as MUST SEE events. Waiting for Columbus is a top-5 live album of all time (IMHO). Posted by Jim on Friday, 08/7/2020 @ 17:01pm |
I've been to 2000+ live shows of lots of different bands. Little Feat was absolutely one of the very top jams, every time I saw them. Not many bands come close to them. Surprised they aren't already in the hall fame! Posted by Charles Pealer on Thursday, 11/4/2021 @ 07:51am |
Lowell George has died, Paul Barrere has died, Richie Hayward has died. Half the band has passed on. WTF are you waiting for? Posted by Jeff Brody on Wednesday, 01/26/2022 @ 18:51pm |
Little Feat is a unique band with an incredible southern r&b sound mixed the New Orleans influence. Lowell George was phenomenal but even after his passing they continued to make great music. A definite must for the RR Hall. Posted by |
Best live band I ever saw! Got to see Lowell in Buffalo in 1978 with the Fuller/Kaz band. Bromberg was there and played A Apolitical Blues! Phenomenal! No one deserves to be in the HOF more! Posted by Steve on Thursday, 03/16/2023 @ 17:59pm |
Little feat wasn't much of a band? They were just the band that everyone that was in a band listened to when they weren't playing themselves. (And sometimes drooled) Save face morons and nominate them!!! Posted by Larry Barnes on Saturday, 04/15/2023 @ 22:27pm |
Dolly Parton is in the rock and roll HOF ahead of Little Feat? LOL. Posted by Keith Hubbard on Saturday, 04/22/2023 @ 09:52am |
Well folks, I had to way in on this. I see there are a couple of doubters on Little Feat. I'm sure they were saving there money for more flashy bands like Kiss and I can understand. I dare anybody to sit down and listen to Waiting for Columbus and Live From Neon Park. Did you ever put your money where your mouth is and go to a concert in Jamaica. Probably not. The reason Little Feat is not in the hall of fame is they didn't kiss ass enough and they weren't interested in getting in. They just wanted to play music for their fans. Tell me I'm wrong Posted by Ronald Adams on Tuesday, 05/9/2023 @ 09:21am |
Eventually LF has to get in. What an influence to so many groups with their unique sound! Posted by Duane on Wednesday, 05/31/2023 @ 19:54pm |
Here's the insanity: Posted by Garee Peters on Saturday, 09/9/2023 @ 22:10pm |
An astounding error in judgement. When their contemporaries hold Little Feat in such high esteem, how can they not be in the HOF ? Posted by Mick Kraut on Sunday, 05/12/2024 @ 11:22am |
I am a personal friend of the band and traveled extensively with them to Australia,New Zealand,Jamaica, and many States. Have seen many artists they traveled with, too numerous to mention. Posted by Gary Pagliara on Saturday, 01/4/2025 @ 10:18am |
I was the first equipment/live sound guy for Little Feat from late 69-71. From them writing and rehearsing their songs (Studio Instrument Rentals and Warner Bros. movie sound-stages) to Western Recording Studio. Myself and Rick Harper (road Manager) were the only 2 equipment/sound guys in our 1st. tour. We were a closer bunch of guys from going to each others homes to just having fun when not rehearsing, recording or touring. There is absolutely NO reason why they shouldn't be in Rock and Roll Hall of Fame considering who's there already. Some aren't even rock and roll bands! Anyway, to whoever is on the nominating committee, put on your earbuds or headphones and listen to both their recordings and live performances. Also listen to they have influenced over the years who are already in HOF.......... their opinion matters more than many on the nominating board already! Never had the pleasure of seeing them when Lowell was alive. I first saw them on the Let it Roll tour in Cleveland. I am completely disgusted by their exclusion from the HOF. Posted by Joe H on Monday, 04/28/2025 @ 09:42am |
It is absolutely ludicrous that one of our best True rock n roll innovators is not in R&RHOF... this is the very reason why the serious music fan holds the HOF in such disdain... take a survey of top musicians of the era and the general consensus was Little Feat was a band to be paid attention to, respected, and applauded for the seamless melding of musical styles that they pulled off in such an effortless fashion...and their most recent album clearly indicates that this band is still a vibrant and musical entity... perhaps the R&RHOF is just too far removed from its original purpose that it has forgotten how to recognize The Real Deal!!!
