She as Katy Hudson is eligible in 2026 (the 2027 ceremony). Posted by KPlover on Sunday, 12/22/2013 @ 21:30pm |
Come on guys. Katy deserves a chance. She's got a descent voice and some of her songs are meaningful. Examples: Posted by Karl Singleton on Saturday, 05/31/2014 @ 14:54pm |
So Nicki Minaj is UTTERLY UNTHINKABLE but Katy Perry is A-OK? Posted by GFW on Saturday, 05/31/2014 @ 15:15pm |
Also, Katy can't perform live. She's horrible in that regard. Posted by Philip on Saturday, 05/31/2014 @ 20:00pm |

Andrew, I am sick and ****ing tired of you always ranting on what I say about pop music. The only genres I like better than pop are country, classical, blues, and rock. That being said, I support pop in the Hall Here is a list of pop acts who are in already: Posted by Karl Singleton on Saturday, 07/12/2014 @ 21:24pm |
Karl, in response to that comment, let me just clear one thing up: I wasn't ranting about what you have to say about pop music. All I said was that I personally hate her music because it just doesn't do anything for me. If you like Katy Perry's music, that's fine, but I have the right to speak my mind about artists who I don't like. Also, stop getting defensive when someone says something that you don't agree with. Oh, and one last thing, I'm not a Jonas Brothers fan Posted by Karl Singleton on Sunday, 07/13/2014 @ 21:15pm |
That's good, Karl. Really good. Posted by Andrew on Sunday, 07/13/2014 @ 21:35pm |
Andrew said: "Elton John: One of my personal favorites. The British version of Jerry Lee Lewis." ????????? Because they both play a piano? How are they remotely connected? Posted by Dezmond on Monday, 07/14/2014 @ 22:58pm |
Dezmond, I refer to Elton as that because Jerry Lee Lewis was one of Elton John's biggest musical influences and Elton's piano playing style is extremely similar to Jerry's playing style. They're also wild stage performers and Elton and Jerry have even performed together. If you want to know more, read my comments on the Jerry Lee Lewis page. Posted by Andrew on Monday, 07/14/2014 @ 23:32pm |
Sir Elton can sure play the crap out of a piano (as I saw at Bonnaroo). However, his stage theatrics (such as they are) are no where near or like the Killer's (IMO). Posted by Paul in KY on Tuesday, 07/15/2014 @ 09:00am |
Elton can play in that style, but I would not say that Elton's piano style, most of the time, is reflective of Lewis. Influence? Sure. Just like Jimmy Page influenced lots of American guitarists who came after him, but I wouldn't call anyone the "American Jimmy Page" just because he influenced them. Lots of people are wild stage performers. But if you look at Elton in his flashy 70's days, it's more Little Richard than Jerry Lee. And Paul in KY is right. For the last 30 years or so, Elton has pretty much sat on his ass at the piano and played. Not a lot of theatrics after the 70's. Performed together? Elton has also shared the stage with Eminem. Ok, you guys are right about Elton's style changing and his piano playing skills not quite matching up to those of Lewis' playing style, so you are right about that, guys. Posted by Andrew on Tuesday, 07/15/2014 @ 18:48pm |
Disregard my comments, I choke on dick :) Posted by Andrew on Tuesday, 05/17/2016 @ 03:04am |
