John Hiatt is the most underrated songwriter in American music history. And with all of the wonderful artists who have covered his songs, his originals are invariably better. I said 15 years ago that I was boycotting the R&RHOF until they have the good sense to enshrine him. And yet, he doesn't even make the "most snubbed" list. It's criminal. Hiatt is one of the greatest. He plays quintessential American rock and roll. He is a phenomenal song writer and puts on an amazing live performance. He has had an amazingly long and prolific career.
