2 comments so far (post your own)A talent scout who discovered some of the greatest jazz, blues and rock and roll singers in the 54 year association with Columbia Records, John Hammond played a hugh role in starting the careers of Billie Holiday and Aretha Franklin. 11 years after he sighed Bob Dylan to Columbia, he was the one who auditioned Bruce Springsteen and told him, "You've got to be on Columbia Records."
