IRON BUTTERFLY SHOULD GET INTO THE HALL OF FAME. THEY HAD A UNIQUE SOUND & WERE INCREDIBLY INFLUENTIAL.I STILL ENJOY THEIR MUSIC. IT COULD BE A GENERATIONAL THING IN MY TASTES BUT IF MADONNA CAN GET IN...............

Not gonna happen, but I wouldn’t be surprised if “In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida” gets a “backdoor” induction in the future cause that song provided a dramatic sound that led the way towards the development of hard rock and metal.

This is a lock for that new "Songs" category.

Should iron butterfly be in the Hall of Fame? I for one say yes. I grew up listening to them I saw them live in Myrtle Beach on a little itty bitty stage. They were awesome. They're mostly remembered for that one 17 minute song but I remember them for the albums with that light psychedelic feel and just good songs. Albeit I'm not a critic just an old school hippie who love to listen to the music. But I think they should be in because they represent a Time and is that not what music's all about. When I think on those days and I think of music I think of iron butterfly,I think of Jimi Hendrix I think of all the great music from that most magical era in music. And I think that were they to be left out of the Hall of Fame it would be a stark omission.

Rest in Peace Ron Bushy, 1941-2021.

If you listen closely to Iron Butterfly you realize what an incredible band they were. In-a-Gatta-da-Vida was a revolutionary song. Their influence was hugh. They should be in now while Doug Ingle the only remaining member is still alive.

Of course Iron Butterfly should be in the HOF! They practically created heavy metal. End of story.

Rest in Peace Doug Ingle, lead vocalist, founding member and last surviving member of its "classic" linuep, and writer of "In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida," 1945-2024.

In the evolution of rock and roll, Iron Butterfly is definitely a big piece of the puzzle. Arguably the 1st psychedelic heavy metal band. And "IN A Gadda Da Vida" the 1st bonafide heavy metal song. They are LONG overdue.

So sad they were not inducted before the last Member passed. Every song was different. Not the same bass lines etc...they Rocked and they Rolled !
Cher ? Really ?

We saw Iron Butterfly in early '68, playing as the house band at the Galaxy Club, just up the block a few doors from the Whiskey, in Hollyweird. This was even before Erik Braun joined the band as lead guitarist. As a sometime piano player myself, I was blown away by Doug's organ playing and songs, and raced out and bought their first LP, Heavy, which is a stone classic to this very day! May God rest your soul, Doug Ingle. You helped me and many others down their musical paths, without any doubt!

I also don't see how Madonna is a big deal.
How many of her songs were 17 minutes long?
Ya.
Thats what I thought.

Every song on the album Animals is a Madonna ripoff.

Lengthen your song up or get off the porch, big dog.

Not HOF worthy

Not every 60s band has a good album/famous song should be included
