They influnced big on alternative metal, but hey, what do I know. They do deserve some credit.

It maybe a pipe dream, but it's a yes for me. Helmet made an enormous impact on many rock and metal acts back in the 90's and even the early 2000's, with bands like Tool, Pantera, Slipknot, Korn, Deftones, Linkin Park, Limp Bizkit, Papa Roach, Nine Inch Nails, Three Days Grace, Queens of the Stone Age, Staind, Killswitch Engage, Chevelle, and more having or had been inspired by their musical styles.

I've seen those guys live and met Page Hamilton once at one of my local clubs - he's really a nice dude.

The band did break thru to the mainstream with "unsung". Meantime sold 2 million. Although they really have no chance, adding their brief popularity and long lasting influence, you could make a credible case for at least consideration.
