I have seen these guys a couple of times at Louder Than Life in Louisville, KY. They put on a fine set. My only quibbles when seeing them are that at some point the lead singer gets behind the drums and with the regular drummer has a 'duel' that probably lasts 10 minutes. Guess the rest of the band is back there getting high. The other thing is that the lead singer (and believe me alot of other bands do this) is always 'begging' the crowd to start a pit or whatever.

My take is: You either get a pit or you don't. Asking for one is lame.

A godsmack fan from the beginning. They had a good start and kept evolving. A lot of hits a lot of shows (great artists live) and this year is their 25th year of kicking ass. It shouldn't even be a question if they are worthy.

From their opening notes on most of their music they are unmistakably noticeably great & manage to change tempos throughout their tunes highlighted by an underrated guitarist, distinguished vocalist & great drummer & altogether a unmistakable original sound of excellent musical quality. A "True" Rock n Roll group, should be in RnR Hall of Fame along with Disturbed & Linkin Park.

I don't think Godsmack getting their name from an Alice In Chains song really matters that much, does it? Besides that's only one explanation of how they chose their name as I've heard several different ways they chose their name so it is kind of ambiguous as to how they really got thwir name. As for all the people that claim that Godsmack stole AIC'S sound is ludicrous and just shows how much people that make that claim have listened to Godsmack's music or I should say haven't listened to their music. Should Godsmack be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame? DEFINITELY! In my opinion they should've been inducted as soon as they became eligible!
