Eddie Floyd has surpassed a Legend, today he is an icon. His career start when he was only sixteen and he continues today recording and making music at the age of 85. That's over 60 years in the music business. Others bestowed the honor upon him, not just for his work as a singer/songwriter in R&B; it was an accumulation of influence in all forms of music! From Blue, Soul, Rhythm & Blues, Country, Rock, etc.
The evidence of that is the re-recording of Knock On Wood alone. It has been covered hundreds of times by different artists from Count Basie, Buddy Guy, and Ella Fitzgerald to Toots & the Maytals and Floyd has Jamaican roots and David Bowie. It has been the cover song to almost every bang in the world whether in a club or a garage. On many competition shows like The Voice and American Idol. Floyd's talent has been overlooked long enough. Give him his flowers, he deserves the honor. Also, many people he wrote with and for have been inducted why not the influencer of the music?

Eddie Floyd belongs in the rock 'n' roll Hall of Fame. His contribution to music is immeasurable.

I truly cannot think of anyone who deserves to be in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame more than Eddie Floyd. Here's why, he was one of the first to do music and before him was his uncle Robert West of Lupine Records who today many fail to acknowledge! Robert, Eddie's uncle was before Motown. His artist were the artist that went to Motown. Eddie group the Falcons paved the way for groups like the Four Top & The Temptations and more. Honor him while he's still here.
