I think Dwight yoakam should be inducted into both the country music hall of fame and into the rock and roll hall of fame. He is a unique talent.

You mean to tell me Fast As You & Long White Cadillac are NOT rock & roll?!! I would call that bias. Discrimination. Rockabilly is one of the roots of rock & roll.

Dwight should be inducted. He is different from the others. He has a unique voice. Also a great songwriter and a wonderful movie star as well. He has even written a movie. Not many can exceed at all that.

3 "country" artists who debuted in 86 should be inducted into the rock and roll. Yoakum, Steve Earle, and Lyle Lovett. As demonstrated by the eclectic mix of artists already in the hall, the parameters seem to be as much about influence, and well as a "cool" factor, for lack of a better term. Given his roots in the early 80's punkabilly LA scene that also produced The Blasters, X, and Lone Justice (all deserving in their own right), and his amazing run of rocking crossover hits in his early career, to his and guitarist/producer Pete Anderson's amazing re- creation/expansion of Jimmy Webb Era late 60's/early 70's crossover hits (think Wichita Lineman, Suspicious Minds, which Dwight has covered, and Kentucky Rain, which he should) 90's masterpieces, and his continued evolution through the 21st century, not to mention his film career, Yoakum, and the aforementioned Earle, and Lovett, are all truly deserving "artists". I hereby challenge the hall to be brave and not fear nominating more alt country artists. There's obviously so many that should already be in, Guy Clark, Uncle Tupelo, Drive by Truckers, Wilco, Lucinda Williams, Son Volt, Rodney Crowell, and on and on
