A bit confused why Give Up the Ghost is chosen as an essential album over By the Way, I Forgive You - the latter is arguably her critical and commercial high point, whereas I don't see how GUtG stands out as a particularly important release for her. Regardless, absolutely love her work, she is in my personal Hall of Fame, but probably unlikely to ever be a serious consideration for the Rock Hall. Not surprised that she keeps popping up at induction ceremonies though - seems like she's friends with damn near everyone in the music industry.
