Agreed with Paul. They are best remembered as theme song guys more than they were as one of the notable Wisconsin regional bands. "Runaway" is a good song that was one of the 80s college rock staples of its era

I believe that this band is an essential part of the American experience, and the many other underground artists who have been over looked for their many musical contributions to a culture that grew up listening to underground music. Just like Marshall Crenshaw and so many other bands that for what ever reason never got there fair share of raido air time.

The BoDeans is one of those acts that has a permanent display at the Rock Hall Museum in Cleveland despite being unlikely to ever be actually inducted. The BoDeans are featured in the Music of the Midwest (they're from Waukesha) exhibit, next to acts like Devo and The Replacements that are much more likely to eventually be inducted.
