It will come as a major surprise to most that Jolson had a considerable influence on rock 'n' roll. Here are the first two cases of Jolson's influence on rock 'n' rollers in what will be a continuing series: Posted by Zach on Tuesday, 11/3/2015 @ 21:28pm |

Al Jolson. although the term rock and roll, or the youth focus was not part of his life time. He still with his electric, dynamic charged up exuberant extroverted being, actually planted the seeds for all that followed. It was more in fact his great comeback in the 1940's, with his more soul full, meaning full impacting voice, and performance style that shook the younger audience away from safe drab crooners, and inspired the likes of Guy Mitchel, Frankie Laine and Johnny Raye etc, to be accepted, evolving soon in to Rock and Roll.
