I really feel Taylor Hicks has a lot of music left in him and he'll be around the music scene for a long time. He has too much passion and talent to go away soon.

Taylor is a legend in the making. There's no doubt in my mind he'll be amongst the greats in the years to come.

There is no doubt in my mind that Taylor will be a living legend for years to come. What we've seen is only a taste of what he has left in store for the world.

This wonderful talent will be around for a long time to come. He is so passionate about the music. Taylor is a legend in the making and the journey has just begun.

It may take a while, because of lack of current air play and support from TPTB, but Taylor will continue making music, and eventually, he'll receive the recognition he deserves. He's a multi-talented artist and if the saying "what goes round, comes round," is true, then Taylor's day will come.

I don't think they can keep Taylor down, He's already had the experience of trying to make is music work and he's proven to me that he knows what he's doing and he's very smart... So I think and believe that he'll make it big very soon and than all the doubters can see just what this wonderful guy is all about...

Taylor's 2nd major label album will kick some serious ass in 2008. Watch for this man's music in the years to come. Taylor has a remarkable voice and stage presence and I for one can't wait for the musical journey he will be taking us ALL on.

Not one doubt. He is a legend in the making and I agree he is very wise about many things. I for one have been a fan since Idol and I do not plan on going anywhere.

I hate when some random forum or group or whatever runs across this site because the people who visit those forums tend to not know what the hell they're talking about. Even given an opportunity, they cannot give a coherent and reasonable explanation for why any musician deserves induction, whether that musician be truly deserving or not, because they do not understand the system itself or how it is supposed to work.

Taylor has written some great original music published on a couple of indie albums. If he can get more exposure for his original stuff, and let people know that he is a great songwriter as well as a singer he may have a better shot at the Hall.

Tayor is the greatest musical talent to hit the music scene in decades.

Taylor is the new Dylan.

Yes - He will be there.

All I can say now is GO TO ONE OF HIS CONCERTS !!

Remember Christopher Cross ???!!! Anybody!!!

Posted by Joe-Skee on Thursday, 11.1.07 @ 11:30am

Yes, I certainly do remember Cristopher Cross. He sang one of my all time favorite songs - The theme from the movie "Arthur" - 'if you get lost between the moon and New York City...'. Great song!

That said, what does Taylor Hicks have to do with Chrisopher Cross?

I think I'm going to ruin my keyboard with a mouthful of vomit.

"I don't think they can keep Taylor down.."

- Indeed. He has become antibiotic resistant and is infecting the musical tastes of thousands of fans thirsting for the next Michael Bolton.

"He is a legend in the making and I agree he is very wise about many things."

- About many things! A salt-&-peppered Confuscius! Taylor heals the sick and poops golden sugar cubes, too.

"Tayor is the greatest musical talent to hit the music scene in decades."

Way-AY! How about EVER?! Taylor is the genius cross pollination of Micahel McDonald, Huey Lewis and Mac Davis! If Lionel Ritchie could wish himself white, he'd be.....Taylor Hicks!

Posted by shawn on Thursday, 11.1.07 @ 12:06pm

Exactly!!! Where are they now....

Posted by Joe-Skee on Thursday, 11.1.07 @ 12:18pm

THE OFFICIAL SOUL PATROL BOARD told me to come here and say Taylor will be in the hall of fame one day! I do everything they tell me.

Before you all go crazy spamming this site with Taylor gushes, remember that it has nothing to do with the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. You're wasting your time and ours, so please go away.

So many comments here make no sense at all. Absolutely illogical without a shred of intelligent discussion.

Taylor Hicks, like so many others, are in the infancy of their careers. No one in the world knows how far and what impact he will have on the music industry in the next 25 years.

Personally, I think he has a powerhouse voice and style that with the right nurturing could resignate quite positively with discerning music fans and critics in the future.

Posted by yesindeed on Thursday, 11.1.07 @ 14:03pm

I thought that you needed to have talent to get into the Rock And Roll hall of fame?? Taylor Hicks definitely has none, so he doesn't belong there.

Posted by No Way! on Thursday, 11.1.07 @ 14:20pm

I think Taylor will go down in history as one of the best singers and entertainers ever.
He has brought music back into my life, and I love him for that.
woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo TAYLOR HICKS AND THE SOUL PATROL FOREVER.

Posted by emma on Thursday, 11.1.07 @ 14:49pm

While no one can truly know what the next 25 years of music will bring into the world I personally feel Taylor will be a true asset to the music industry once he is out from the influence of the Clive Davis group who in my opinion did not help enough to promote his career.

This very dynamic and unique talent has only begun to show us the true soul of music in spite of all the critiques he has received. Should he be inducted? Without a doubt, YES!

Posted by Crystal on Thursday, 11.1.07 @ 16:52pm

"Dynamic" is a word they teach you in high school marketing classes. Also, I strongly suspect the use of the word "critique" above is a malapropism.

Posted by William on Thursday, 11.1.07 @ 16:58pm

That's right. I said Taylor is the new Dylan. Dylan is the only person who comes close to writing lyrics like Taylor. He is the greatest singer since Frank Sinatra, the greatest guitarist since Jimi Hendrix, the greatest orchestrator since Duke Ellington, the greatest dancer since Michael Jackson, and the greatest soul singer since Otis Redding. In fact, his music is beyond categorization, it is beyond the bounds of pop, rock or anything else. It is simply, Taylormusic. Tears are streaming down my face as I write this, Taylor's music just might bring peace to the Middle East. If only Al-Quaeda could get a little dose of the Soul Patrol, they would stop hating us. Taylor Hicks is Jesus Christ.

Dez - obviously that is a joke because if it is not - please go to the nearest psychiatric hospital for admission...

no. never. part of the corporate crapmill. :( american idol is helping to kill music as an art form. AND they make the charts suck even worse. screw it.

Posted by b on Friday, 11.2.07 @ 15:43pm

b - I agree. American Idol IS distroying music as an art form. You'll notice tho, it's people like Chris Daughtry and Carrie Underwood who are basically Clive's puppets and are doing what they are told. It's all about the $$$ - nothing to do with innovativeness or artistic integrity.

Taylor is no Top 40 puppet, that I can assure you. Watch for his next album. I think it will surprise a lot of people with a more organic and acoustic sound. It won't fit on Top 40, but that's really okay, since that chart is filled with nothing but robotic copycats.

Posted by sweetsmoke on Saturday, 11.3.07 @ 11:11am

taylor's not a puppet, yeah. but that still doesn't make him credible, or make for good listening...

Posted by b on Saturday, 11.3.07 @ 11:33am

Time will tell b. He's only in his infancy as a recording artist. I say he develops into very credible blues and soul artist in the years to come.

Posted by sweetsmoke on Wednesday, 11.7.07 @ 19:12pm

I say he fades into nothingness in the musical landscape
