It seems you have an understanding problem..?
Sean is all Lennon is and better. He is what John could of been.. Yoko was John guiding light..
With out her John would of been just some has been English pop artist like Paul ended up being...

tina...let me add another "HUH??????" to Cheesecrop's. You've got to be joking!!! Even though they're father and son, you're comparing a marginal musician to an absolute legend. Sean was like 4 or 5 years old when John died, so his direct musical influence with John is probably like any other hardcore John Lennon fan.

Now, if Yoko taught him everything she knows about music, that probably took, I don't know....5 minutes!!!

Lets face.. it John got better after he met Yoko.. Think about it.. She is the tool of inspiration. Even John knew it that is why she sang on his albums.. She is ahead of her time. That is what John thought.. I suppose you know more than John Lennon..?

Posted by tina on Wednesday, 10.15.08 @ 18:49pm

tina...John didn't get "better" after he met Yoko...period! What on earth do you base that comment on??? Sometimes love is blind...and in John's case...deaf!!! Did you watch their infamous week on the Mike Douglas show about 30+ years ago?? She was absolutely hideous!!! The only one who was getting into what she was doing was John. When they met she was some avant garde artist from a rich family...what does that have to do with music??? Yes, he wrote songs about their relationship, but he wrote some pretty brilliant stuff way before he met her, so I'm thinking he had that ability all along.

If you think she's ahead of her time, then you're desperately behind the times...

This is an interesting arguement.

Tina - Yoko may have been John's muse, but his music was no better than what he did prior to meeting her. And some close to the situation will tell you that he put her on his albums to keep the peace. I have no idea what the truth is. Only John does.

Gitar - In some musical circles, Yoko is considered highly influential amongst songwriters and performers. For her to be rated in the top 100 Women of Rock (VH1), she had to do something right. Personally, I think she is crap.

Isn't love interesting!

Either way, Sean has the talent of Julian's left pinky, so I don't think he is seeing anything when it comes to the Hall.

November 1966 to begin the 129-day recording sessions for their eighth album, Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, released on 1 June 1967.\

Dameon

John met Yoko just before Sgt Peppers the rest is History..
John had talent and Yoko let it float down stream and beyond..
When Lennon left the Beatles Paul's writing did also... John and Yoko kept on writing from "Give Peace a Chance" to "Woman" his last dying moments were with Yoko..
Sean is John ,Yoko and Sean... the best of 3 in 1..

Are you kidding me?

Yes, it is true, John met Yoko a few weeks before they went into the studio to record Pepper. No, Yoko was not John's inspiration at the time. Brian Wilson and Pet Sounds was. In fact, John and Yoko did not get together for almost two years after that initial encounter at the art show. Yes, he was impressed with her humor and positive vibe. And you see that influence in the White Album which is when they decided to be together. However, John's best work can be dated back to Rubber Soul and Revolver. That would be pre-Yoko! His solo career was like the Stock Market; filled with ups and downs. He was definitely not consistent in his writings. Yoko may have been his muse, but she could not challenge his true musical genius like Paul did. Even his great "Imagine" has serious lyrical flaws and hypocritical messages:

"Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can"

Yoko and John with no possessions; are you kidding me or what?

Yoko has lived the life of the rich merry widow. And Sean is nowhere near the talent of his brother.

The best of 3 in 1. I think you have listened to Imagine one too many times. The best of 3 and one is when the 3 were Paul, George and Ringo and John made 4.

His last dying moments were with two police officers in the back of a cruiser, not Yoko.

I cried when John died, but I didn't buy Double Fantasy then and I won't buy it now. It just isn't that good. Coupe of songs and a lot of filler.

I said his last dying moments not last to be with him dying..He was still John not a dead man breathing..
Crying won't bring him back what a selfish person
to care only about you. Thank God Yoko is still here to help us..
She can inspire you as she did John.. Sean is the new light let it come into your life..!!
Give Pease a Chance and Sean as John and Yoko said LOVE IS THE ANSWER...

First of all John did not surf or do surf music.,.so the Beach Boys were little help to John.
Yes Revolver was good.. George Harrison was the one that brought feed back and India mystic music to the LP..Ringos drumming was very progressive..
John was taliking about dying even then..
Yoko gave him years of creative life..
Sean is the fruit of it all.!!
The next thing you might say is she{Yoko} can't sing.. Don't waist your time John thought she could I think he knows more than you.
good bye!!!!

well this is my last statement. If I am rediculous then so is John Lennon..It appears many on this forum seem to know more then the Lennons! I find that rediculous..!The world cried when John was gone and by golly they should, they had not learned their lesson. We have another chance for those of you that flunked the first lesson. Sean is here can you hear it yet..?

As John said once where there is life there is hope!
God have mercy on your heartless soul..

...ridiculous AND melodramatic!!!

This comment shows that you have absolutely zero knowledge of John Lennon and his music. So don't comment on this subject anymore.

Sean is the answer? If this is true, I am very scared. Has he even done any music lately? Does anyone really care?

God have mercy on your heartless soul.. (Tina)

I understand that you can now buy Prozac over the internet at wholesale prices. You might want to look into this.

All jokes aside, your comments reek of idol worship. Talk about "God Have Mercy". What does the good book tell us about worshiping false idols?

John Lennon was an amazing songwriter who touched generations of fans. He influenced more Rockers than I can even imagine. He was also a middling activist who when he wasn't marching, was getting drunk off his face with Harry Nielson. He wrote catchy peace slogans and put a RnR beat to it. His becoming Mr. Mom probably had more to do with his guilt over Julian then anything else. And if Sean is such an amazing person, why hasn't he helped in the ongoing spats between Yoko and Julian? It is his own Brother for God sake.

If John were alive and he read your words, he would tell you to think for yourself and not follow anyone's words, including his own.

John Lennon was not a Saint - he was a Beatle.

O.K., so I've been out of it for the past 24 hrs., so I need to play catch up here. What's w/all this weirdness on the page? I won't dwell on Lennon Sr. or Yoko, I'll just say the kid hasn't done anything I can remember for a good many years now.

Of course I can can barely remember anything over the past couple hours, so I'm n ot much good here to begin with.

Posted by Cheesecrop on Thursday, 10.16.08 @ 18:47pm

Why would anyone vote yes to Sean?

Posted by Blah-blah-blah on Monday, 12.8.08 @ 06:06am

Sean Lennon? Give me a break. His induction chances are at 3% rightly so.

Posted by Bingo on Saturday, 06.20.09 @ 14:44pm

He got all of his musical talent from Yoko...

Posted by Gitarzan on Saturday, 06.20.09 @ 14:54pm

No way does Sean Lennon deserve to get in. Why don't we just induct John Lennon's mother for giving birth to him?

Posted by Ogden on Thursday, 08.27.09 @ 06:46am

I thought Sean sang a track or two on some 1980s album, which would make his effective date of eligibility around now.

Posted by Gregory Pietsch on Saturday, 10.17.09 @ 22:30pm
