Tosh was a member of Bob Marley and The Wailers...So I guess he is already in The Hall with Bob and the rest of the group.

"Singers smoke it and players of instruments too
Legalize it yeah yeah
That's the best thing you can do"

I was 21 years old in 1977 when I heard Equal Rights by the great Peter Tosh in Nigeria. I was convinced that he was a voice crying in the wilderness, like the fiery John the Baptist. I became a reggae fan from that moment on. Listen to his Get up Stand up. He deserves the highest musical honour.

Speaking of Bob Marley, how come The Wailers weren't inducted with him? Peter Tosh should be in along with the other Wailers

Posted by Keebord on Thursday, 07.9.09 @ 12:34pm

Peter Tosh should be inducted in his own right. Great reggae star, cowardly murdered over 20 years ago.

Posted by Paul in KY on Thursday, 07.9.09 @ 13:34pm

That is also true, but The Wailers should have been inducted with Bob Marley

Hey RANT GUY, Have you ever heard of someone called OKTOBERFEST?

Posted by Keebord on Friday, 01.1.10 @ 07:37am

Keebord...I was just thinking that very thing!!! Now, if I may make another "profound" statement...

Posted by Gitarzan on Friday, 01.1.10 @ 07:43am

Gitarzan, your comment reminds me of that KAREN character on the Skid Row page. Completely unintelligible.

Posted by Keebord on Friday, 01.1.10 @ 08:46am

Keebord...that's good (they're actually lyrics to a really old song...which I hope I never hear again (ROFL!!!)! Since KAREN doesn't read her own gibberish (she obviously doesn't PROOFREAD!!!), maybe she'll see how ridiculous she looks....

Posted by Gitarzan on Friday, 01.1.10 @ 10:34am

That particular song was called "Mairzy Doats"...a popular novelty song in the 40's (for all of you trivia buffs and purveyors of useless information (see: Gitarzan)...

Posted by Gitarzan on Friday, 01.1.10 @ 10:42am

Interesting, perhaps I'll look it up. Then again, I don't think so, Karen, Oktoberfest, and all the other loonies are quite enough for me! LOL

Posted by Keebord on Friday, 01.1.10 @ 11:07am

Well, if nothing else, that song would definitely put them in proper perspective...LOL!!!!!

i think all regae stars like tosh cliff and marley should be in the hall of fame but ragae is not rock music im just mking a point and useing ragae as an example you cant leave rap out or the hall of fame and but in country pop reagae people can even go as far and say grunge cant be in (will never in 10000000000000000 years happen) but if all thesse different music generes are in the ROCK N' ROLL hall of fame the rap belongs there too

Peter Tosh, "Equal Rights" and "Legalize It", both great albums. One of 20th century musics most transcendant figures. Yes he deserves the Hall for his work both with the Wailers and solo, but as we all know... anyways.

Peter Tosh is greatest strongest reggea legend.
Bob Marley is the king of reggea but Peter Tosh is truely the greatest reggea singer.
Peter was a prophet, a teacher,a human right activist.
I think Peter Tosh should be in the hall of fame.

As a friend and confidant of the late Peter Tosh ( deeply missed ) i consider him a musical Legend alongside The late Bob Marley

Having been a close friend of Peter Tosh during the early to mid eighties from what i gathered from multiple private conversations with the great man himself was that he was quite a unique reggae artist, and extremely intelligent, very intellectual combined with a rather eccentric imagintion and sense of humour which seemed to work positively for him as a stalwart human rights activist and performer. For me knowing many reggae artists as i do in a professional capacity, Peter ought to in my opinion be given posthumous recognition as a legendary reggae singer, sonwriter and performer. He was one very courageous man indeed

Honor should be given to whom honor is due. Aside my natural luv for the man I call my spiritual father, tosh is like no other artist in history. He is the greatest. But I won't be suprise nor disappointed if he is not inducted becouse this things are polytricks and you all know that Baba is anti-tricks. So its all good

Posted by Yusuf on Wednesday, 05.4.11 @ 15:19pm

Although he continued to use the name "Bob Marley and the Wailers," most of Bob's music was not made with the Wailers, which is why Tosh and Bunny were not inducted with him into the hall of fame.

Posted by Your mother on Thursday, 05.19.11 @ 15:48pm

peter deserves more than this,we don't care whether he is inducted or not but the fact still remains he is the all time best in the history of reggae music

Peter Tosh most definetly ought to be why he was a superb global reggae superstar who was assassinated in kingston, jamaica in 1887.
