Paramore is once again a great band, but will not be able to make it in. As much as I love the band, there's no way in hell.

Paramore. The young, American Apparel outfitted 5-piece band that delivers incredible music assisting the beautiful voice of Hayley Williams, putting on amazing live shows anywhere and everywhere. Very talented and dedicated to their music, I am a huge fan of their style, their music, their shows. They're basically my #1 favorite band of all time, wearing the band shirts, having posters on my wall, never going on past a conversation or a day without mentioning Paramore. But I have to agree that I don't think they will be or should be inducted in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, due to what it means to be inducted. I just think Paramore is the music of today, the music of these generations. The competition is hard, but it's not all about the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame anyway, Paramore will always be remembered by the fans, and in a way, from touring to many different countries around the world, and performing at most states in America, getting radio airplay and media attention at such a young age, they have left their mark in the world. Don't say they suck, these are just opinions that anyone who likes them wouldn't care about anyway.

whose favorite band could be paramore?!?!

Posted by christine on Thursday, 12.13.07 @ 06:55am

Ok, first off, I don't think they'd make it into the hall of fame. Don't get me wrong, I think they deserve it, but I know that society has a way of ignoring some of the better bands and popularizing others that don't truly deserve it. Just look at the radio and what artists get airplay most of the time today...need I say more? But for those who say they suck, why? You must have some reason that you don't like them, don't you? Now my opinion on what makes good rock isn't going to be the same as everyone else's opinion, and there's no right or wrong. But from a melodic and musical standpoint, I think good rock isn't just heavy and crazy solos. Good rock has to have a good melody from a lead guitarist with harmonic support from the rhythm guitar. I think paramore has that. It also needs a bassist that can assist the music with good bass lines and make the music sound stronger. I believe paramore also has that. It needs a drummer who has skill, but knows how to fit the music and not just go crazy. I think paramore has that. Good rock also needs lyrics that express certain emotions and convey a meaning. Paramore has that. Last but not least, they need to be able to play good live, with high energy. I don't know about anyone else, but I think paramore is one of the best bands out there when it comes to good live performance. They all get into the music and headbang (true rock must have headbanging ;) but at the same time, the dancing around and going wild doesn't affect their music. Josh Farro may not play insane improvised guitar solos on stage, but he certainly knows how to play, and hasn't ever messed the music up by an inch from what I've ever seen and heard. All of these things define a good rock band, and as I expressed already, I believe paramore has all of these. And another thing, I just want to add that it's rare that I listen to one or two songs from a band and end up loving them, but with paramore I did. With a lot of other modern bands, I like one or two songs, but that's that. With paramore, I've never heard a single song that I didn't absolutely love. So please people, while making comments and debating this issue, give more reasoning behind your opinions and explain thoroughly like I did, otherwise your opinions don't have any validity. (and don't use "they're an emo band" as your reason...be mature folks...)

Oh I forgot one thing. Another test of a good rock band, is to see how they play acoustically. If you've ever seen paramore perform an acoustic set and say that they suck.....you must be on crack or somethin...lol

Posted by Zach on Tuesday, 01.22.08 @ 17:54pm

I don't think anybody's giving them a chance. They work hard, way harder than any band affiliated with FBR at the moment. They're not in it for the money, their in it for the fans, 100% and if you don't think so, tell me in 2030, if I was right or not.

Jenn said "They're in it for the fans" are you seriously THAT stupid Jenn?

Wow, are they even rock?Do You see them in the hall of fame? Their songs are pop, and you wont be hearing them on the radio in 5 years. Rock artists are bands like Nirvana who's songs are widely popular today.

Besides their songs have no emotion, just written to make money.

Eh.. I dont know about their longevity (probably nothing remarkable) and I wouldn't say they have no emotion in their music or that their songs were written to make money (except for putting 'Decode' on Twilight... pathetic), it's just all their stuff sounds the same. They're the biggest female rock group of today like it or not though

As far as Nirvana goes... a good band, but not all rock artists are anything like them, nor should they be

Paramore is the best band ever, and yes, they'll be in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

That's all I've got to say. oh and...
Hayley you're soooo pretty!

That's exactly what I was thinking! Great minds think alike. Well, maybe not great minds... I've no doubt you have a great mind, but basically I've been working w/a zucchini for a while now.

It all has to do w/Jinx Dawson. That's why there calling the new "Twilight" film "New Moon"! It is a new moon rising for Jinx & the Coven fanatics! She's going to hook up w/the "Twilight" kid, and there going to become all-powerful vampire lovers, and the ew rulers of the rock universe... FOREVER!!! (evil laugh) HA-HA-HA-HA-HA!!!!

btw...

boo.

There was a Paramore article recently in Slate Magazine. Maybe that created some of the Paramore frenzy on this site.

I like the band, Riot is a really good album.

"Paramore will be in The Hall Of Fame, They are not Pop, when u hear the synth?, The Are The New Era Of Rock! do u understand?"

Yes they are pop, genius. Pop isn't determined by the type of instruments that are used but how they are used. Pop songs can be performed on guitars and drums, and non-pop songs can be performed on synths. Perhaps you may have heard them receive airplay on your local edgy "Modern Rock" station and that's what convinced you that they're a true rock band...but they're about as pop and corporate as it gets. Of course pop isn't bad in itself, it can actually be as creative and innovative as any good "rock" song, but Paramore isn't even that.

Colt 45...Good God, with logic like that it's no wonder you call yourself "Colt 45." After all, your comments are always the epitome of class and knowledge (ok sarcasm over).

Seriously though, what's with all the mindless fan drivel on this page?? It's almost as bad as all the crap-worthy comments on the Senses Fail, Insane Clown Posse, New Kids On The Block pages, etc.

Anyway, one of Paramore's people have spoke out that hayley was a pop singer put into the band to make money, so don't act as if they are soo authentic.

Saw this band at Voodoo Music Festival. Have previously seen them twice at Riverbend, but this was 1st time seeing them after they got rid of the losers. Young man standing beside me said for him & those in his age group, this was the biggest band of the weekend.

They played right before NIN, to a mostly pro-NIN crowd, and they tore it up. Had the crowd clamoring for more by end (and a NIN crowd isn't in Paramore's wheelhouse as far as friendly audiences go). Hayley was as good as I've ever seen her. Since it was Halloween (or just after), she was rocking a getup that reminded me of Priss in 'Blade Runner'. She is very, very hot.

Played mostly songs off most recent album. Hayley has a little Taylor Swift in her, in that she writes & plays music that her old bandmates might not like.

After seeing them again & how much they rocked, I gotta wonder 'Who in their right mind would quit a band like that?!'

Note: Hayley started out set wearing leather jacket with 'Grow Up' spray painted on back. She doesn't go for subtlety.

I started listening to Paramore in 2007 around the release of "Riot!". I went to my first Paramore concert in 2009. Since then, I have seen the drama the band has gone through and the subsequent albums, all of which sound better than the one before it. Paramore has one of the best live shows today, which is why I try to see them whenever they pass through my area (5 shows and a cruise, and I still want to see more). If I was to answer if they were ready for induction right now, my answer is no. However, people thought they peaked in 2007. "Ain't it Fun?" is now their most successful song to date, and their popularity only seems to be going up alongside each greater milestone that they accomplish. I think given that they have another 16 years to go, as well as given that they are the most popular female fronted rock band in the mainstream music world as of right now, Paramore will have a fairly strong chance of induction come 2030. Here's hoping at least. :)

Posted by NixtonV on Friday, 07.4.14 @ 15:07pm

Might not mean anything, but Hayley Williams is being given a Billboard Music Award in the "trailblazer" category for her influence on women performers and for her contributions in multiple musical genres.(pop, rock, funk, hip hop, country, edm, etc). Would that count under the "influence" section of the Hall of Fame? Considering that most of this was done within the band, I would think this would increase Paramore's chances of future induction into the Hall of Fame

Posted by Ryan Valentine on Friday, 11.14.14 @ 14:57pm

Some funny comments here. Back when they were new, not much hope. But almost a decade later, they (as far as recent rock bands go) are at the top of their game. If they have at least 2 more albums as great as their last 2, should go in with ease. Check back in 15 years and see if I'm wrong.
