Besides Bjork and Tori Amos, she's one of the most respected, influential and critically-acclaimed female artists to come out of the 90's. Her not getting in would be a huge travesty.

I've never even heard of her myself - but who knows maybe she'll make it in. Stranger things have happened.

PJ Harvey is amazing. Stories from the City is one of my favorite albums of all time. It really would be a travesty if she wasn't inducted.

PJ must be the undeniable winner of the place in this year, if it's not it will be a HUGE lack of justice

She is the Godess of rock nowadays

I would consider PJ, Pearl Jam, and 2Pac to all be basically locks to get in for this group.

PJ Harvey blows, quite frankly. Can't write songs, play, or sing. Has produced not one single album or song that has had any impact. Outside of critics' circles, she has no career.

In other words, she's not a go.

"Dreadful" is what best describes the above post, and a "penny" is something it's worth much less than.

Personally, I think P.J. Harvey is as overstudied, carefully packaged and tries to reach to far as her contemporaries like U2 or Madonna, but how can their work be dismissed when they have branded themselves as Rock N' Roll even when they're not if you compare them to, say, the more viscercal, truer (and sometimes dangerous) side of rock in the vein of Rolling Stones, Zepplin or Guns N' Roses.

cum on billy :)

but ya, she is pretty damb good. Only artist to ever win the Mercury Prize twice (or was it 3 times?)

And the fact that SHE produces such award winning rolling stone (gag) praised albums.

4 track demos should be an essential album

Of course, but not now.
How could you induct PJ Harvey and not Cyndi Lauper, The Runaways, The Slits, Siouxsie & The Banshees, etc?

"How could you induct PJ Harvey and not Cyndi Lauper"

incredibly easyily

She should get in, but not first-ballot. Like Alanis she's a 10 years down the line act.

If the NomCom has any merit whatsoever, PJ Harvey will be nominated this Fall. She's incredible!
