One of the current greats. Me hopes she doesn't lose 'it'.

To put that American Music Club 7% chance in perspective, I have unwittingly ended up on the M.I.A. page. I will honestly tell you I have no clue just why this person has a 39% induction chance. I have heard her name for at least 4 yrs. now, always mentioned as one of the next "big things" coming down the pike. I know she's had some minor success, but certainly nowhere near what the hype is.

There are a seeming endless parade of stars that are hyped as the next big thing, only to go nowhere fast. M.I.A. is merely one of many who fit in there, and considering she is a pretty basic (if fair) rapper, the idea of a 39% chance for induction is unreal.

Judging from Kala, if she stays on this path, she'll be in. She's not a certainty yet, she hasn't been around long enough or influenced enough. But if she stays the course, she'll be in.

She's not even eligible for another 18 years!! Nobody knows what will happen. Maybe in about 10 years it'll be closer to start making guesses

Unbelievable. The first time I heard her I was like "What the hell is this?", but eventually she really grew on me. One of the truly great (not to mention original) artists out there today.

I agree with Cheesecrop on this one, especially since the "hype" around her seems to have died off recently, especially with her latest album. Let's come back in 10 years and see what happened here.

OK there are some really weird high scores on this site, look at the following artists' induction chances:

50 Cent: 40% Induction Chances

M.I.A.: 40% Induction Chances

Dexys Midnight Runners: 37% Induction Chances

Simple Minds: 29% Induction Chances

Frankie Goes to Hollywood: 26% Induction Chances

Kelis: 24% Induction Chances

And to think, Joe Tex, a man who has been nominated not once, not twice, not even three times, but FOUR TIMES has 6% Induction Chances... less than Them Crooked Vultures.. who aren't even eligible for OVER 20 MORE YEARS!!

I dunno. I think MIA is well on her way to potential induction. KALA is a masterpiece, and her other two albums are great as well. I think she's the closest thing we have to a true rock star in this day and age. She's got the attitude, acclaim, and controversy. The critics (deservedly) adore her. I can see her getting in (I think she's kinda like the Patti Smith of the current generation).

I wasn't arguing against M.I.A. I was merely pointing out how bizarre the induction chances scores are sometimes.

For instance, KISS has 40% Induction Chances... same as 50 Cent.

Personally think that MIA was always overhyped. Her bid for the mainstream with Maya kind of bombed hard. She has one great album so she will probably get in but I dont think she deserves it.

(ps Im happy Kelis's chances are high; so underrated)
