Most underrated band. Excellent musicians covering a lot of styles. Listen to their "Just another band from east L.A." collection and you will see why. One of the best covers of the Dead's Bertha.

Best musicians in the world, never mind the United States.

I think Los Lobos ware the Latin answer to Elvis Costello & The Attractions. Listen closely to the rhythm guitar riff or "Will The Wolf Survive?" It sounds very similar to the riff in "What's So Funny About Peace, Love And Understanding?"

Saw a concert back in '88, small venue. The band tossed out a beach ball and took requests from whoever caught it. Played Zeppelin, Dead, Mexican Corridos and Rancheras, Hank Williams, Jimi. Now if that ain't rock n roll--then leave 'em out. Truly American genius band!

Gotta admit, this is one that I don't get (yet). I suppose it'd be fair to say no chance just because they'll only be remembered as the Ritchie Valens cover band. But if folks could give some seminal songs (not albums, really, because people who think in terms of albums usually space out a couple tracks from their memories) that show why they deserve consideration, I'd appreciate it.

would like to start a drive to induct these fine fellows into rrhof by next year. This is a travesty they are not already in the rolls. The outdistance every other artist on the eligibilty roll.

It is indeed a travesty that Los Lobos is not in the Hall of Fame -- is there an effort of any kind to get them in?

"Saint Behind the Glass" is the greatest Rock N' Roll song of the past 20 years. Nuff said, Put the Lobos in the Hall now!

The son of Los Lobos' David Hidalgo is David Hidalgo, Jr., drummer for Social Distortion.

What I want to know is "How do we start the campaign to get Los Lobos inducted (not just nominated) into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. If any group deserves it, it's Los Lobos.
