Strange how Big Brother and the Holding Company haven't gotten in already. After all, they were Janis' backing band. I guess it must be the fact that the backing members aren't as well known as Janis herself. Meh. Posted by PhotoBoi94 on Sunday, 08/17/2014 @ 21:27pm |
Its hard to believe it has been 45 years since her death (as of today, its anniversary). I was not around, in fact it wasn't until I was probably 12 I started learning about her music. Then her tragic death. Today I read a decent article about her, as I love learning more from rock legends. I had no idea she was friends with Seasick Steve, and how she was admired and envied by other big names at the time (Mama Cass & Grace Slick). Posted by Jason Voigt on Monday, 10/5/2015 @ 00:19am |
I want everyone to know about my InductTheGroups campaign pushing for different Backing groups to be inducted, and Big Brother is amongst them. Posted by ZootMarimba on Thursday, 08/29/2019 @ 19:30pm |
