Based on her full-length debut and her live performances, she's obviously a legend in the making. She'll get some much needed exposure with the Grammy performance coming up in a couple of weeks, so hopefully that will break her out of her current "under-the radar" status and on the path to becoming a significant 2010's artist.

Janelle Monae's career has barely started, and she is already making waves in the music industry, Her music is innovative, while at the same time has obvious influences to funk, jazz, Ziggy Stardust, rock and roll and electronic music
she is a great singer, and songwriter. the music she has released has been top notch so far, and i cannot wait to see her rise as an artist. After the Grammy Awards (and her completely electric performance) her name has gone out there, and she will grow to be one of the best performers of the 21st century.

Janelle Monae's career really just started and already she's changing the music industry. She has written her music, instrumental and lyrics. Her music is a mix of modern and old-school R&B with heavy funk. On occasion on both of her albums she flashes back to the 70s and 80s with song reminiscent of David Bowie and 80s dance hits.

For those who have been wondering, in that Sonos commercial Jannelle Monae is in, the song that they are groovin out to is by a band called 'Deep Cotton'. The track is titled 'We're far Enough from Heaven, Now We can Rock Out'.

Seems to only be out as an MP3 at present time.

Ms. Monae is very easy on the eyes. Will check out her music.

Saw Janelle do her thing at Bonnaroo! One of top 2 sets I saw that weekend (along with Elton John). Wow, does this woman get down! She didn't stop moving during the entire 75 min set. Billboard magazine has a great writeup on her set & has a picture of her grooving out in front of stage. If you look at her head & then count over 3 people on rail, I'm the gentleman in the purple shirt/grey hat.

Billboard said she had 3rd best set of weekend. Best set (according to them) was the Skrillix Superjam that she figured prominently in!

If you see her in concert, you will get your money's worth.

Security Question:

Which letter is Springsteen's band named after?
