Excellent band, although I'm not sure about 'innovation' - here's why

1. A sound heavily influence by Joy Division. Very comparable.

2. From the two albums, and their newest single, they haven't actually changed their sound much, more refining and perfecting. Good for themselves, bad for innovation I think.

However, they have made two stunning albums, and that must be acknowledged.

Quite alot of influence, yet little innovation. That said, The Strokes are easily comparable to the likes of Ride.

They're a great band (in my opinion), but time will tell whether they change their sound enough.

Their debut album was superb, but their most recent release was pretty damn lackluster. I suspect they've lost whatever they had.

"Turn On The Bright Lights" came out in 2002 but I didn't get into it until this year. It's a fantastic album.
