Why was Conway Twitty nominated before George Jones?

Because Twitty's music veered much more significantly into RnR territory than Jones' did. Mystery solved.

If Elvis Costello can cover him he can make it in. Although WIlllie should be the next country person to make it in.

My great great uncle George Jones, should be in the Rock N Roll Hall Of Fame. Because, before he was a country artist he was a rockabilly artist by the name of Thumper Jones with songs like Rock It, Who Shot Sam & many others, he also do the theme for Squidbillies. Not that this matters, but Kid Rock name dropped him several times in his older songs when they didn't even know each other. I asked my uncle on his bus while wearinga KoRn Follow The Leader shirt, do you know this guy Kid Rock that keeps name dropping you in his songs? He said "There's an artist named after a kid that kicks rocks?!" Plus, he's made songs with B.B. King, Elvis Costello, Jerry Lee Lewis, Johnny Cash, Keith Richards, Ray Charles, Willie Nelson, Vince Gill (Current member of The Eagles)..etc! Plus, many rock artist have covered his songs live & on albums. He was really good friends with Bob Dylan, CCR, Janis Joplin, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Grateful Dead, ZZ Top...etc! He was supposed to be on the flight with Patsy Cline, but because he ate all her home-made chicken she had in catering she got mad & told him he wasn't gonna be allowed to ride with them on the plane back home. I'd say those are all really good reasons for being considered for the RNR Hall Of Fame.

I believe George Glen Jones the best country singer that ever lived, I heard him sing While Lighting in 1959 I was 7 years old then I'm 71 now.
