2 comments so far (post your own)Totally inexcusable omission from the Early Influences category. He has influenced guitar players across a diverse array of styles and genres - Les Paul, Chet Atkins, BB King, Jimi Hendrix, etc. Django melded the gypsy and jazz styles (first swing, than later bebop) seamlessly and played both acoustic and electric with equal technique. With an all-star lineup of guitarists all crediting Django Reinhardt as an influence (Tony Iommi, Jimi Hendrix, Jeff Beck, B.B. King, Jimi Hendrix, and Jerry Garcia, to name some), there really is no justifiable excuse for Reinhardt not to be an EI inductee. Posted by Zach on Saturday, 07/16/2016 @ 21:12pm |
