No comments on the Bird? What a shame!

I have to confess that I wasn't always keen on Charlie Parker and the bebop movement, but I've since grown to appreciate the artistry and complexity displayed by him and Dizzy Gillespie.

Having said that, I don't think the Hall is likely to induct either as an Early Influence. I could foresee John Coltrane getting in, as he was cited by The Doors as an influence, but Diz and the Bird don't have as strong an influence on rock n roll as Miles Davis and Coltrane.

Charlie Parker is a jazz giant who changed the face of the entire jazz form and shaped the course of 20th century music through his artisty and complexity.

I personally think that jazz has been severely underlooked by the Rock N' Roll Hall. Looking back, only Louis Armstrong, Charlie Christan nad Miles Davis have been inducted. Why not Charlie Parker, John Coltrane, or Thelonious Monk?

By the way, Zach, how was your Thanksgiving?
