Bobby Vinton (along with a lot others) should've been inducted years ago.

Is he the Polish Prince

One of the biggest singers of love songs in the rock era. He's sold over 75 million albums and had more #1 songs than any male solo singer from the early 60s to the early 70s. He established himself as one of the top concert performers in America. With the recent induction of Neil Diamond, the door could be opening for Mr. Vinton's induction.

I am surprised that there aren't many votes.
He out 1 hit Elvis and Sinatra
Anyone that thinks he should not be should re-think...

These older rock artist are the foundation of R&R with only 86 votes it shows many here if not most should educate themselves!

WTF. I remember watching him on TV as a kid. I saw him at the state fair and he was awesome! Teen Idol from the early 60's with great songs! Roses are red my love! I am Mr. Lonely.

Is he the Polish Prince

Posted by Roy on Friday, 08.27.10 @ 21:11pm

Roy,

I know it's been 5 years since you asked, but since nobody answered, I will. Yes, Bobby Vinton is the Polish Prince. He got the nickname when he was in Chicago. Old Man Daley had gone to see Bobby Vinton instead of the Swedish King who was also in town. The press asked Daley why he was'nt spending the evening with the Swedish King. Daley replied that he had been with the Polish Prince. It was right about the time
Moja Droga Jacie Kocham came out - so the nickname stuck.

During the 70's, Chicago had the largest Polish population in the world. Today Chicago is second only to Warsaw and not by much. Today the most spoken language after English and Spanish in Illinois is Polish. The Polish were the largest ethnic voting block in the 70's and the Swedes were low on the list for ethnic population size. More voters would notice Daley going to see Bobby Vinton.
