Will 54-40 be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame?
"Musical excellence is the essential qualification for induction."

Nice Canadian group out of Vancouver. They take their name from U.S. President James Knox Polk expansionist quote "54-40 or fight!" when he wanted to gain control over a portion of Western Canada in the 19th century. I can't see them ever getting in though, they're just too much of a small band without any lasting legacy

I love this band!!!! but, i had to vote no. Beyond Hootie and the Blowfish covering I Go Blind, they never really made it past their own borders. I think on some level, you have to make it in the largest Rock market (The United States) and if you can't do that, you have a much harder case to gain induction. I do recommend Smilin' Buddha Cabaret as a solid and under appreciated Alternative effort of the early 90's. Even though their earlier efforts still gain airplay in Canada, i always thought this was the album when they were at their best.

Security Question:

Which letter is Springsteen's band named after?
