3 comments so far (post your own)Wow, I didn't know the late Preston Ritter posted a comment here with an really interesting fact. The Prunes is/was one of the biggest underdogs in psychedelic music. The genre of that music with elements of electronic and garage rock mixed together is what made those guys so unique and innovative by recording their music with distortion and overdrive guitars and sound effects that were repetitive yet very variating. Unlike most of their peers/contemporarie, Ken Williams (guitar) and James Lowe (vocals) created the "free-form garage music" concept, provided the band with a greater sonic palette and exploratory lyrical structure. I grew up with the Electric Prunes and don't understand why they haven't been inducted into the rock roll hall of fame. They were one of the first bands to bring in psychedelic music. Still listen to them. Posted by Henry lopez on Tuesday, 06/29/2021 @ 21:36pm |
