Roberta Flack sang "Together Through The Years" the theme song to the 80s-90s sit-com Valerie's Family/The Hogan Family. There was a Joy Division/New Order thing going on there.

I'll have to say no, because she was critically panned in her heyday.

Critics love panning popular women of color, IMO. They can never take away this:

'Flack was the first, and remains the only, solo artist to win the Grammy Award for Record of the Year on two consecutive years: "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face" won at the 1973 Grammys as did "Killing Me Softly with His Song" at the 1974 Grammys.' (excerpt form her Wikipedia page)

That's 44 years later now & still true.

Gonna agree with Paul on Roberta. This is the Hall of Fame - not the “Hall of Acts Critics Like.”

What? This must be an oversight. I was surprised to just find out that Donny Hathaway was just inducted without the honor of a ceremony, in 2021 because of COVID. But she should be right there along side him. You are the epitome of grace, style and song. You are my love, heaven make me sing la de dah.

Shame on the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Roberta Flack is dying of ALS. Have the dignity to honour her pioneering spirit before she passes away.

The album "First Take" is such a gem, it should've sent the signal that this was no ordinary singer/ performer. How is she not in the hall? It actually makes me think the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame isn't all that special if they exclude such a talent, listen to her catalog man, are you serious? Get it done, NOW!
