what's with all the Japanese artists you want on the list. what have they done to influence rock and roll?
Posted by Brian on Monday, 03.24.08 @ 17:19pm
I'm just mentioning that they are missing from the lists. It's up to the public to determine if they belong in the Hall of Fame.

And another thing: I haven't heard of any of the artists on this list, so why can't I mention one that is omitted, yet qualifies? ℃-ute probably haven't influenced rock and roll all that much because they only have a half-dozen singles out, mostly in the parapara dance style.

the one japanese artist that needs to be added to the the site is the boredoms. they won't make it in the hall of fame, but they have definitely been a significant band in the noise rock genre, and are at least as important musically as scarlett johansson.

Here are some other Japanese artists worth considering when they are eligible: Kyu Sakamoto, Loudness, Pink Lady, Puffyamiyumi (probably won't get in), Animetal, Morning Musume (on cuteness alone, but have the stats to back it up), and of course, Shonen Knife (which already has a page here).

Dude, will you stop already with these Japanese artists? It's asanine. Are you delusional? Why stop there though? Where are the Uzbekestein metal gods and the Indonesian techno-dance groups?
Jeezus Krist - pull your head out of your ass.

Shawn, what did you think of The Stone Roses and My Bloody Valentine? I won't expect much for the latter....
You can write a comment on each one's page, if it's easier.

Speaking of non-British-or-American groups, could FRH please make a page for Mew? I really like their album, "And The Glass Handed Kites".

So far, the list is meh right now. Most are newcomers. They'll all need to release 2 more albums before a decision can be made.

Apart from such geniuses as Dirge Tankian, right maplejet? Ha.

that list truly disgusts me

I like No Age and Vampire Weekend, but being realistic I know they have no shot.

Fingers...I think you meant "rappers" not "rapers" at least I hope you didn't mean rapers.

Looks like FRH deleted Fingers' post. Now I look stupid lol!!

I just spent way too long rounding up five groups from the 2031 list; I can't bother trying for this group. Let's just assume the RRHOF is long gone by this year, cause otherwise they're going to be screwd anyway.
But damn, if I MUST choose, i'll put money (but a very small amount on Adele, Duffy, Katy Perry, The Ting Tings and Vampire Weekend.

She wound up and slapped me, & it was then I knew what pain was. I had pushed Lady Antebellum to the limit, & she was letting me know about it.
You see, dear reader, I am a member of the Courteneers (& a member in good standing, you will soon realize). I had been Scouting For Girls for some time w/my fine friends, but tonight was different. Tonight I was in A Fine Frenzy, & no one in this One Republic could stop me. I had already devoted a portion of the evening to pursuing the fair Katy Perry, whom the Suede Brothers had failed to please earlier. I, however, was in fine form, & Katy even admitted my romantic gestures had given her the Ting Tings all over. I had received the same reaction from Colbie Caillet & Adele, & while the question of Caging The Elephant had been brought up (as a Courteneer, our respect for the fairer sex knows no bounds), here in Owl City the notion of a future tryst was not out of the question. Yet here, w/Lady Antebellum, something had gone terribly wrong. What was this Black Tide that had swept across the room, that caused her to strike me? Was I learning the Pains of Being Pure at Heart w/this damsel?
What really hurt was when the Nightwatchman spread the word of my failure around. Soon, the Cool Kids knew, and then all the ladies found out of my shameful disgrace. Now, it is I, and only I, who reside in my Foxboro Hot Tub, a lone & broken soul...

F--K Buttons
Bon Iver
Vampire Weekend.

3oh!3, Katy Perry, the Ting Tings will probably at this moment in time.
Miley Cyrus some how could but I doubt it.
Posted by MC on Sunday, 04.11.10 @ 17:12pm
What a truly depressing list.
Posted by GFW on Monday, 08.23.10 @ 11:28am
30H!3 is an crunkcore band... they have no chance getting near.
B.o.B I'm not sure about.
Katy perry is just another popster, she'll fade away.
Miley Cyrus? No. Thats like inducting The Monkees. Though even they made some decent tunes
Sean Kingston? Noo. He butchered No Woman No Cry
Owl City is a side project from what I understand and theres no innovation.
Scouting For Girls, theres a smal lchance but I doubt it.
Vampire Weekend seems the strongest of the list.

"Miley Cyrus? No. Thats like inducting The Monkees. Though even they made some decent tunes" - GFW
Miley Cyrus being compared to the Monkees? Well, I've certainly NEVER heard that before.

Most Likely, and what I'd like to see:
Bon Iver
Adele
Posted by Cloonie on Monday, 08.15.11 @ 22:34pm
The only artist on this list I can see having any sort of case to be made for the Hall of Fame (as of now) is Vampire Weekend.
Posted by Tahvo Parvianen on Wednesday, 11.23.11 @ 11:14am
Adele, Ann Wilson (if it's the same Ann Wilson from Heart), Bang Camaro, Cage the Elephant, Dethklok, Katy Perry, Lady Antebellum, Miley Cyrus, OneRepublic, and Sixx:A.M. are the obvious likely candidates out of this list.
Posted by Weezy on Wednesday, 12.7.11 @ 16:09pm
I would also add Owl City, Vampire Weekend & Bon Iver as bands with potential.
Posted by Paul in KY on Thursday, 12.8.11 @ 07:58am
Bon Iver
