The Killers definitely have a very unique sound, different from everyone else out there.
Very influnential.

They certinaly wowed me with "Somebody Told Me" but after I heard "Mr. Brightside" it became pretty obvious what one-trick ponies they are.

They really aren't innovate...its like a cross between Oasis and The Smiths

Great band, so far their first four releases haven't dissapointed, and being inspired by New Order you can hear alot of that in their songs.

I wouldnt really say they have a new sound...they honestly dont have a single style. I mean completely as a compliment. Every album they have put out has different inspirations and as a result, they dont quite have their own sound. Of course this can be a little bad for the Killers since they can fade out very easily

My friend went to a Killers concert about 4 weeks ago and he said someone was singing the wrong words to the wrong songs in his ears.

The Killers are one of the few original and actually good bands. Their lyrics are are powerful and symbolic, (for the most part) their music is intensely diverse and evolves over time, a pattern seen by many accomplished and critically acclaimed artists. Brandon Flowers voice is no doubt unlike one we've ever heard put to rock music and obtains the vocal range and fluctuation abilities of Freddie Mercury. Not to mention that they're popular. If The Killers continue to make good, diverse, music, (as I believe they will) they will most definitely be inducted. But as a side note, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is starting to look like a joke. I mean, they're inducting rappers and disco artists.

how in the world did you calculate 15%? the killers are one of the biggest rock bands out there right now and you've given them the same chance of being inducted as gwen stefani!

Don't know about their induction chances (still have a way to go) but I think 'Sams Town' is a damn good album. More of those & maybe they'll get in someday.

You really don't do much research on new music do you??? Maybe you just like that genre, but lets just say I wish I had more hands so I could give the Killers 4 thumbs down...

Great band. They still need time to prove whether they're worthy, but they're off to a good start. You can definitely hear New Order, which I'm glad about as it increases New Order's chances.

'I've got soul/but I'm not a soldier.'

Sorry - but I'm not down with that. I have too much respect for our armed services to go around bopping to that kind of garbage. It's a slap in the face to anyone who's worn the uniform - so it's probably giving indie geeks a hardon as we speak. Not to mention all the pillowbiters on the nominating committee.

Posted by Terrible Ted on Tuesday, 02.23.10 @ 14:36pm

Come a little closer and talk about "indie geeks" so I can gave you some facial injuries. The song itself has nothing to do with the military. You're not Ted Nugent, are you?If you are I retract the facial injuries bit. If not, then you're an overly patriotic idiot, as the song itself has nothing to do with the military. Dick.

Love The Killers , ok there not original but they are certainly unique , all there albums have a different style even the B-sides album and they are all fantastic.

And Terrible Ted what are you on mate ? How the hell is I Got Soul But Im Not A Soldier disrepectful too the armed forces ? it's complimentary if anything...

They're on a good road, if they release two more albums like their last three they'll get in.

Saw them close 2013 LouFest! Best set of day, can certainly see why they headlined. Played for about 2 hours. No encore though, when they quit, they quit. Had a wild fireworks ending. Probably around 20,000 there for set.

Played Queen song 'Somebody to Love', along with all their hits (also most of 'Battle Born'.

Lead singer reminds me (in terms of big voice from a not-so-big body) with the lead singer of fun.

Would highly recommend this band for anyone wanting to see them live.

Killers really came out swinging with Hot Fuss. Like those songs. Mr.Brightside & Somebody Told Me. Became stars really fast & popular too.
Their was so much love & popularity for The Killers. I think it went to their heads some. I remember Adam Duritz talking about the next album Recovering The Satellites about CC becoming grounded & back to Earth after the incredible success of Mr.(()Homes )Jones .

It would be arrogant to write off The Killers since there is a lack of quality bands. 4 albums I've listened to have been good. I wasn't keen on Sam's Town on 1st listen but I like it more now. They have 15 years before lock eligibility 2029 or they might only be another good rock band who squandered their talent. The Killers will decide their future... KING

Posted by KING on Sunday, 02.2.14 @ 04:04am

Killers don't get as much respect as I think they deserve. In an era where guitar bands were becoming somewhat niche they broke through and released crazy popular songs. They probably would need one more good album to get in but I think they deserve it now. Time should help them, Hot Fuss has held up incredibly well.
