8 comments so far (post your own)I just watched the documentary "Shut Up and Play the Hits" on Netflix instant today and I'd highly recommend it to any LCD fans. Posted by DarinRG on Wednesday, 11/13/2013 @ 01:04am |
Believe it or not I actually started listening to LCD this week. After rumors started spreading that they (or he) were headlining Coachella (and eventually confirmed), I started to brush up my knowledge. I've known about LCD Soundsystem for years since a lot of my indie/underground-loving friends kept talking about them (or him). I was actually glad they broke up years back. It wasn't until recently I started taking LCD more seriously as they showed up on many lists. They may have only 700k likes on Facebook, but 2016 looks to be a great year. Rumor has it James Murphy and crew will be doing the festival thing. Perhaps Bonnaroo? Posted by Jason Voigt on Wednesday, 01/6/2016 @ 12:13pm |
Would be cool to have them there, Jason. Hope you make it this year. Posted by Paul in KY on Thursday, 01/7/2016 @ 07:31am |
I hope to also! Great to hear from you, Paul. Right now, PJ (confirmed by the band, not Bonnaroo), LCD and the Dead (probably minus Phil Lesh) are rumored to be the 3 headliners this year. It would be a perfect fit for their anniversary. Posted by Jason Voigt on Thursday, 01/7/2016 @ 21:33pm |
Saw him (or them) at Bonnaroo. James Murphy had a great stage musician crew with him, and they put on a great show. He's definitely capitalizing on the fact that he is unpredictable. By that I mean he could disappear anytime and not make music again if he wants to. It's no wonder LCD is playing (and headlining) several festivals this year. The sucky part is not many people are still not familiar with LCD, despite of all the great reviews they got. I'm talking about no matter what generation. I guess in this day and age to follow good music is to do your extra research from word of mouth. I believe LCD Soundsystem is one of those who has built up from a cult indie fanbase. Rolling Stone has now put LCD on their 'Immortals' list. I strongly suggest listening to his three albums. You'll be glad you did. Posted by Jason Voigt on Wednesday, 06/15/2016 @ 21:53pm |
Saw the band headline Friday evening at Bonnaroo. Was not with Jason at this set. I enjoyed their set a lot. However, was very tired by end of it & was actually dozing off (that tells you how tired I was, as the music/light show was not conducive to falling asleep). Had wanted to see Tame Impala set, but I headed to the tent that night. Mr. Murphy & co looked like they were having a great time up there. There's about 7 or 8 people on stage. They have a unique blend of post punk and disco, so why not? Posted by Liam on Thursday, 10/17/2019 @ 19:33pm |
We will the the case of Daft Punk. If bigger and more influential act like Daft Punk can not be inducted, LCD Sound system will not have a chance a Posted by power on Monday, 09/25/2023 @ 12:52pm |
